it's a shame that they didn't discover more cosmozoans (space-born lifeforms like they type discovered at Farpoint) until well after the Dominion War was over and Riker had taken command of the USS Titan. Because in one of the USS Titan books they came across an area with more cosmozoans and re-encountered the "star-jellies" like the kind at Farpoint.....and they discovered more Crystalline Entities and even discovered a way that they could be controlled (using a "carrot and stick" type method with the graviton pulses as the "stick")...because could you imagine if this discovery had been made before the Dominion War? And imagine what a whole "fleet" of Crystalline Entities under Federation control could do to the Dominion fleets (and planets?)
