We have only seen one form of it and every species hyperspace drive etc looks different, we have seen this.

Lets just call it Ultra-smurf-speed until we know for sure

Personally, I thought that the effect used was very similar to the "warp" effect used in ST. What's to say that these new blue aliens don't have warp drives? (just 'cos we don't have them doesn't mean they don't exist...)

I love it how people talk about "FTL" and hyperdrive propulsion being something completely separate. FTL simply means faster than light - which is what the hyperdrive achieves. So, by definition, all hyperdrive is FTL, but not all FTL is hyperdrive. That concludes our logic lesson for the week.

It look more like a lighter form of FTL, and its not hyperdrive becouse you can see when they retreat that the ships engines were powering up hard, something any ship that uses a hyperdrive never did.
