None of that is true for Eli. Young's big line is just being some kind of threat, ask Telford about that.

No it doesn't, because the reasons were exactly the same. The person in question threatened something her believed is his/himself so he took justice into his own hands and dealt with it.

The fact that he does it in his personal life and his work life just speaks for his character.

And yet he did nothing about that. Kind puts a flaw in the concept that Young will attack anyone who tries to take his power

No, it was Young asserting his power saying "if you don't like it, I can take away your chance at survival." He didn't like being challenged, even though it was warranted.
