Goodbye Elliot & Lantash
It's good that they made this into a two-parter but I do feel that SG-1 trapped in the tunnels was too much of the same. They were just trapped and not getting out while all the real action takes place at the summit. The rest of SG-1 + Elliot felt like fillers to get two episodes. So perhaps they had too much summit but just not enough to spread across 90 minutes so they have an extra layer where the Tok'ra get wiped from existence (not really) and SG-1 gets to run around in proverbial circles to stay busy.
Elliot and Lantash do pay the red-shirt price of the week, and end up being the true heroes of the two episodes. More could have been done with that but I nevertheless love these episodes. They introduce us to the new bad, Anubis, and at the same time we get some solid team moments, and Daniel and Jacob at the summit doing what Tok'ra do best -- lead by infiltration and then make everything go to hell in a handbasket ... well, escape pod but it's the thought that counts.
This is an episode about the Goa'uld, with SG-1 as the back-up players. Occasionally, that's fun but they still need to be doing something other than running around -- cause that gets boring after a few minutes.
How would you rate SG-1's "Last Stand?"
Excellent
Good
Fair
Poor
Terrible
