All in all, this was a good episode. Unfortunately, we couldn't make friends with the Taldor or whatever their name was. However, what about Linea's "activators"? Didn't she write a formula or was it just bogus? If i'm not mistaken the only woman there when SG1 arrived was Linea, how come? Anyway, she is an interesting character and i'm glad they brought her back in some way. The part that won me over was when that guy that took the smoking boots tried to befriend Teal'c. It was very humorous "Maybe you challenge Vishnoor. Maybe you win. Maybe I be your friend?" and Teal'c answers "Maybe not." (something along these lines, don't remember exactly all the words).

Probably because no other woman would have been able to survive such harsh conditions.

It was an ok episode. Hammond's first off world trip through the gate I like how he was nervous and questioning about the right address.

Maybe there are two sections of society labours, thinkers, builders, scientists etc working on a tier scale. Those at the bottom or the lowest and as such live get paid less and can't afford good clothes etc. But yes for a society so advanced you wonder why their clothes are such but look at Linea's clothes they seemed pretty ok compared to the others so that could be a sign of a tier hierarchical system.

It was my understanding the diplomatic relations only started because of SG-1 being imprisoned. We didn't know when the Taldor introduced these strict laws it could of been after the "destroyer of worlds" created the virus/plague that wiped half the population out and that maybe why they aren't interested in opening contacting people/learning about the Stargate.

I love when Jack puts on an Irish accent and says "Well you actually won a fight Danny boy" so random yet funny.

Also cool how we learned about another SG team (SG-9) being for diplomatic missions.

This episode just goes to show that whenever they rescue people they first should be taking them to an alpha site base to try and reduce things like this happening.

            Piggy-bakcing on Captain_Jake & kimberlyrose conversation earlier...

I was rather confused about the Taldor's society as well. Are all these people (prisoners and the judges) considered Taldor-ian? The first man met in the forest doesn't seem to consider himself a Taldor, he speaks about them as if they're another race/nation/ethnic/etc.

Also, there was apparently a war, at least a biological one in which "The Destroyer of Worlds" played such a heavy part in. Is she a Taldor?

Also, without accounting for stellar drift, SG1 was only able to gat to Abydos since it was close-by (relatively speaking). Perhaps the prison planet is close by for the Taldorians and they've not been able to gate elsewhere because they haven't figured that part out yet? Just a thought.
Then again, Lelia is called the "Destroyer of Worlds" ~ I thought they were talking about island/nations, but do you think they're actually a representation of a handful of "known" worlds? Sorry, watched the episode with the first round of the official SG-1 Re-Watch Drinking game, so I could be off on some details ~ umm. Houston, we could have a problem.

I always liked this episode, one of my favourites from S2. When Linea uses that device to help Daniel "she's a Goa'uld" came to mind straight away when I first saw the ep... just watched it again and I was wondering - Danny boy knew SG-3 would be on a recon mission to P3whatever because Hammond said so in a briefing, so they gated there from the prison. But how did he know the address to dial where SG-3 would be if no SG team has been there before?

Daniel is the gate address expert and would know most if not all the addresses even if they never been before. And, he most likely saw the briefing report anyway and or talked to SG3 before they were going to gate out. Thats my guess anyway.

I really enjoyed the end of the episode, and I'm looking forward to getting around to seeing the follow up episode. I'm liking season two a lot more than season one so far!

Not my fave ep...but it did have some redeeming qualities, like the science. I just find it hard to believe that Daniel was the only one who was even a little suspicious of Linea - esp since I kinda had her pegged as more than she seemed from the beginning (of course, I have the advantage of ep summaries and stuff....)

all in all, an ok ep

That episode is very cool. I liked the plot of being stuck in a prison hike Hedante. I wish that SG-1 would have remained there for a season!!!!!!
