If it helps any, I think the picture with Ben and Claudia looks more "relaxed" rather than romantic, although I can see where either definition would work. I chalk it up to Ben and Claudia working together for so long and being really comfortable with each other. I think that Ben [and Claudia] probably feel really comfortable with all the cast, but they do have that "history" that they are now just building with the Stargate cast.

BTW, I love the background of these pictures.

Ditto. I don't see anything romantic in any of the shots. They're just PR shots, which overall - staging, outfits, etc. - are good, except for the photoshop poisoning and well, Teal'c's odd expression.... hmm...

I wouldn't worry about the fact that he isn't paired with Vala. There could be more pics on the way (though I personally don't really believe that who a person is paired with in a photo much reflects who they are paired with on the show...unless they're in an embrace or kissing, or gazing into each other's eyes).

LOL Well, to be fair, that was a behind-the-scenes pic, and AT and MS were just goofing around off-camera. And though a lot of S/D shippers use that in a lot of different ways, we all know its origination.

Of course Chris Judge has no facial expression he's in 'Teal'c mode'. Has Teal'c ever been known to constantly smile from ear to ear? Also, has it ever occurred that these are the characters and not the actors that are in these pictures--characters that are not in their uniforms; but instead in regular clothes?

Also, what's with the 'they don't look normal or real' mess? I bet if they were shown au natural with eye bags, pimples, 5 o'clock shadows, greying hair and facial lines, people on here would be like "Ewww, he or she could've looked better than that". "Why didn't she use concealor on those eyes."

That's people for you. Can't ever see the positive in ANYTHING. Always leaning towards the negative----everytime. Sigh.

Has Teal'c every been known to smile from ear to ear? No, but Christopher Judge has. The man has an absolutely beautiful smile which rarely gets seen in promotional photos. Which is part of the reason why I have such issues with these photos. In most promotional shots we are not seeing the actors, we are seeing the actors portraying their character. So I don't mind seeing CJ looking stoic in the photo, because he's simply in character; however, I would like to be able to actually recognize the actors. I can't imagine CJ, as a photographer himself, being happy with the way he looks in these photos. I have heard Amanda make jokes about herself in the S7 promo shots. But what else can you do as an actor? You don't have control over what promo shots are used or which ones are manipulated. I just think it's a huge disservice to these actors to manipulate their images in such a way that they look fake or plastic.

Perhaps Sci-Fi feels they need to have actors who look twenty years old in order to appeal to a younger crowd. Honestly, I don't know what they are thinking, but I can guarantee you if you took a photo of any of these actors at a con at 8am in the morning, wearing the same exact outfits, the photos would be ten times better than what Sci-Fi has released as S10 Promotional photos. Why? Because all of the actors are naturally attractive... even with their dark circles, bed hair, facial lines and five o'clock shadows.

I like the Amanda/Claudia one but, like many here, the "dehumanising" of the actors makes me squint. The line between real live actors and CGI ones is blurring from the live end

Well, I happen to like the pictures. Yeah, they're airbrushed (but not, to my eyes, as much as other people see) but I don't think they were going for natural. I like Daniel's glasses. I thought last seasons promo pics were too airbrushed. I feel this is an improvement.

But, referencing a post in the beginning of the thread, I'm now suddenly curious about the idea of German porn stars.

Okay. These pics are waaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyy airbrushed to death. Even to the point of their eyes. I'm sure it's that most of the actor's expression has been "smoothed" away, but the eyes in most of these look dead. There are exceptions, but Chris' pics were really bad.

The AT/BB shot was the best. It looked least airbrushed.

I think it would be nice if they'd give us something more realistic, so we'd have a better idea of what we're going to see them look like in the actual show. The civvies are nice, and I realize that everyone gets bored of the uniforms, but it would be nice to see those, too... IMHO.

I'm one of the tiny minority who are not head over heels in love with Daniel's glasses. I find it hard to get used to them...I mean, it's not a shape I'm used to seeing on his face, and the teeny tiny wire frames look odd. I actually thought they were white/gray until I blew the pic up more and realized that they were actually a gold/brown, and the white I was seeing was actually the edges of the lens (do they need to be that thick really? MS doesn't need to wear glasses in RL). That, coupled with his Jack-esque/Mitchell-esque hair, made it hard for me to recognize Daniel when I first saw these (although I admit they don't look half as bad in the smaller pics as they do in the huge ones from the emedian site).

IMHO, it's a shame that they weren't going for natural. It's like they've all had dermabrasion (?not sure if that's the right term) done to their faces. I sincerely hope that they won't look exactly like this onscreen.

But that's just me.
