S10: Critique & Contemplation

A car chase? Oh what a grand way to bring in the teenage boy. I'm surprised they haven't gone all out and made a Western Episode where Mitchell and the local bad guy have a draw and Vala wears a tight corset as she parades around in the local whore's outfit.

I'm still mad at the fact that if they can bring in all of these 'big' actors, why can't they bring back Jonas Quinn! For crying out loud, they whined "we don't have the money for him" now they are pulling stunts like that. Give me a break. What a mockery of a television show. The sad thing is that there will actually be fans that are going to drool over these scenes as if they were the greatest thing ever...

The Mitchell scene that he's tied up to a bed and Vala finds him like that sounds like a bad porno. Bridge really needs to fire who ever came up with that idea...

Oooh, don't even get me started on the Jonas Quinn BS, Amanda Eros.

The reasons they gave were a sack of crap then, and they knew it.

"We can't really sustain a 5-man team," they said. "We don't have enough money," they said.

Back then, their ratings were solid, and they still had Gekko. Some could say that the second issue was legitimate, about not having enough money. But, if I'm not mistaken, S7 was the last season where they went offworld on a regular basis, the offworld gate and all. So I just don't see how that excuse could fly, when they were (a) planning on starting a new series for the franchise and were (b) evidently jonesing for Ben Browder to play John Sheppard at the time.

They were so full of it, they knew they were full of it, many of US knew they were full of it, but they did it anyway. It was an awkward situation made even worse by it.

This is where history repeats itself in the most horrible of ways.

as for Corin-that was a face saving mechanism-they screwed him and they knew it-why on earth that man would ever want to go back to that kind of environment is beyond me though.

yep, so TPTB are wheels...and so's the stargate...and the wheels are on the car, not the motorcycle, and they're like the handcuffs that chain mitchell to the bed....so...so...GAH!!! sky, i'm SINGING! you know what singing does to my reasoning skills? its KILLS them! kills them dead! and what's worse, i'm singing "the wheels on the bus"! itsn ot even a bus, its a CAR! no, a motorcycle!!

i officially dub this my rage against sky's wit in response to my attempted wit in which i missed the obvious connection between "spin" and "wheel" and brought up the gate, motorcycles, buses, cars, and handcuffs, which was not actually a rare against sky, but more against my inability to comprehend the inferred connection she made, or perhaps my attempt to over analyze said connection, the catalyst of which was, of course, mitchell and TPTB. beat that.


i really hate season ten. its destorying what's left of my sanity (leaving me with just the "in", and i'm more of an outside type, so it really pisses me off.)

right now the gnome is looking pretty damn appealing. at least he knows his place in the world.

car chases? why in the name of all that's holy would a SCIFI show need car chases. car chases are in the here and now, and they're not writing here and now, they're writing space opera and farcical silliness.

let's not muck up reality with this silliness, screw it all and get them in space ships. couldnt' be any more expensive

either that or we have lost ours-the stories get more and more bizarre-and more and more leaving the part of the show that made it what it was-the team that went and explored new worlds through that "round spinny thing" and found allies and artifacts and stuff. where the members of this time actually interacted with each with affection and respect.

what they are doing now is beyond what I can even think about.

We used to sing that bus song when we were on days trips in secondary school. 60+ hormornal, suspiciously substance-added teenagers loudly singing always pee-d off the teachers and the bus driver.

Surffice to say that if I see any more quotes about the 200th episode being a chance to see old faces, when the actor involved in 26 of those episodes is being ignored (one who did make enough difference for there to be a 200th episode), I'm gonna start throwing things.

If, by some miracle, they've actually managed to keep their mouths shut re: his appearance I might even forgive that line from Citizen Joe. (I was going to say forgive them for S9 but that's going to cost a lot.)

you know what's really cheap? character moments. and NOT hiring new!bigname!actors. and not doing entire badly choeographed CGI battles. and not doing crazy stunts on motorcycles. gee, i wonder what TPTB could POSSIBLY do to save money?


anybody else severely disappointed with the AT interview? i love amanda, but i get the feeling we're going to be seeing a lot of straightman!sam, stupidfool!sam, exposition!sam, foil!sam, and the old favorite back-by-popular-demand, badlywrittenwallpaper!sam.
