Can't imagine why it's not a popular episode. I think it's funny as all get out!

I don't like it because, to me, there're tons of humiliating moments. I don't enjoy watching humiliation (even--especially--when it's supposed to be funny, like slapstick).

I like the "Be the girl" line from Janet the most.

I wonder how an Egyptian sarcophagus ended up in Mexico. They didn’t explain that. The episode is unforgettable, every enjoyable and full of great lines. “the one with the marble crown” ?

Hathor was imprisoned by the Goa'uld, so the Goa'uld in charge of that was probably one the ancient gods of South American cultures.

You see very few Goa'uld possessing American gods. Without any technology Hathor has very little chance of returning to Africa where the Goa'uld's sphere of influence is.

Well the Inca's and Myan Ziggurats do look like Pyramids. So maybe there WAS some cross polonization between the south American myths and the Egyptian ones.

Good episode. I like that early in its run Stargate already had strong female characters which is more than I can say about a lot of tv shows. I had some technical questions about the episode like Jaffa Jack but after reading through the thread, all my questions were answered.

Watched this last night, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I love Janet's lines, but it's also just fun to have an episode focused on the girls and their wits.

I'm not sure why this particular episode is regarded as so silly when episodes like the Broca Divide and Emancipation came before it. My annoyance with Emancipation was that the show seemed to jump too eagerly into a story about being confronted with hostile, "primitive" people who foam at the mouth at the chance to possess a blonde white woman, and having it happen that early in the show came off as not very believable to me.

Eh, I enjoy Hathor because it's a lot of fun, just like a lot of other episodes throughout the series.

So... I'm reckoning that Hathor's host was willingly taken and they have a purely symbiotic relationship...
Please do me a huge favour and help me be with the love of my life.

...They said the Goa'uld "borrowed" from the Mythology so there's nothing to suggest that they had to be exactly accurate... is there?

Facebook post about Alexis Cruz and the Audiobook he's done. If you're a fan of Alexis and his work - you'll love it. Book 1 and 2 are there now. The second one is brilliant, but I can't vouch for the first one (not having heard it), but I'm sure it's just as good, if not better.

Plus as other shows/films seem to indicate, there does seem to be a lot of cross polinization between the Egyptians, myans/toltecks/asteks and some of the oriental groups.. What with the Pyramids and ziggurats all looking similar.

Interesting episode. Not one of my favorites, even if I enjoyed seeing strong female characters taking center stage.

Great - Stargate women are saving the planet.
The facial expressions of the airmen being lured into the women's room - absolutely lascivious!
They reminded me of male dogs sitting outside a house with a female dog in heat.

I'm another person coming late to Stargate (up to Season 7 right now). Anyway, I think this episode has one of the funniest lines in all of Stargate.

Remember how Col. O'Neill had the 'womb' cut into him and then Sam and the others pull him out of the bathtub thing and put him in the sarcophagus to heal? Now they pull him out of the sarcophagus and he's appears fine but Sam asks to see his stomach. After she tells him he had a 'wound' there, he pulls his shirt aside so that she can look. So she's running her fingers over his stomach and says something like 'Amazing' (meaning how he's healed) but he looks down at her and says 'Crunches'.

I crack up every time I think of that scene...
