Daniel Jackson/Vala Mal Doran Ship/Discussion/Appreciation Thread

Okay fashionistas, Daniel's going to an outdoor concert with Vala...it's a hot July evening...what's he wearing?

Please keep in mind my personal dislikes:
Pure polyester...soft polycotton blends are fine, as are linen, silk and rayon.
Sloppiness: hated, hated, hated his 'date' wear in MM...love the silky shirt BUT it looked sloppy and unkempt. This particularly applies to pants...so no 'skater' shorts.
T-shirts are fine(the arm thing ya know) but could we do some colour other than black.
Lack of colour or really ugly colours:...hated that shirt he was wearing in the episode that MS wrote...sorry I'm almost hopeless with the episode names before S10. Just what was that colour? Mud?
I like patterned shirts, so the check/plaid is fine, as are stripes and blocks of colour...and denim is good too.
If I get a winning suggestion I'll even give credit when this scene is posted(aren't you just chomping at the bit now to participate?)

Um as a fountain of useless knowledge I know that chaps go over jeans and have weird as* cheek holders, and that they should be I think two sizes bigger than your pants size.

hehehe...oh they don't have to be too big...especially if you're not actually wearing anything else underneath<BFG>...see they leave certain areas of the body(the other side from the a**) completely exposed(if you get my drift) and that's okay Erin...it would make for REALLY raunchy tale if Vala could get Daniel to wear those without the jeans...maybe after they've been playing together for several years but not likely in this particular scenario.

Okay the fashion designer my mother always wanted is thinking up ideas.

Since it's July I think Daniel could get away with just a T-shirt in a light blue that brings out his eyes, classic white or a pale green. Maybe something we a simple design, like really simple - Vala buys him clothes, cuz I can't picture him buying logo shirts himself.

If you want to go with a button down shirt I'd go with the same colours. I don't know how you feel about short sleeve buttons vs. long sleeved ones but either can work and the material can be a light weight linen. I know that sound kinda dodgy but a good linen shirt looks really good on men. And as for patterns I like stripes and if Vala bought him the shirt it can not be normal stripes but 'triangular' one - like the type of cuts those art scissors make.

Khakis could work, but I'm partial to as* hugging jeans.

I think I said favourite pic 'at the moment' I was in the mood for angst last night (actually, I'm always in the mood for angst so nothing new there) and I found that pic and really liked it.

The pic spam was awesome though The hug in Momento Mori is my favourite Daniel/Vala moment. I love hugs sooo much. They are better than kisses and canon-ship in my opinion A great hug says so much *le sigh* Bless them. Awww.

Yes, team month is very, very good, Djay! Hey are you keeping a list of our finished months and ones that we still need to see? Hmm...maybe I shouldn't pester since I gave up on my month.

And as for the country song, I was trying to think of one that Daniel might like from his point of view.

Here's the next bit of the PWP, it's pretty crappy, but I had to find a transition scene to get them from the booth to the dancefloor then back home.

Vala and Sam came back to the booth, laughing hard at the way their guys straightened up at the sight of the two trashy girls walking past.

“Enjoying the view, boys?” Vala tucked in next to Daniel in the booth and made room for Ishta as Sam slid in next to Mitchell with Teal’c next to her.

“Yeah, lovely view, Vala,” Cam smirked. “You girls have fun out there?”

“Loads of fun, you ought to joins us,” Sam elbowed Mitchell a bit and took sip from her water.

“What have you and Teal’c been up to, Ishta?” Daniel asked.

“What was the game called, my love?”

“Darts,” Teal’c replied.

“Yes, of course, we have been playing a most interesting game called darts.”

“You hustlin’ everybody?”

Teal’c raised an eyebrow up at Mitchell. “Merely unburdening some of the more inebriated men of their heavy purses.”

“Aw, Muscles, you and that wit of yours,” Vala winked at him.

“Colonel Carter,” Ishta began, “would you mind directing me to the ah…”

“Ladies’ room?” Sam finished for her. “Yeah, no problem, come with me. Vala, you wanna come along?”

Before Vala could follow Ishta and Sam, Daniel spoke up, “Actually, Vala, I kinda like this song. You wanna dance?”

“It figures you’d wait for a slow song, wouldn’t you?” She started off sarcastically but then she looked into his eyes and saw the question for what it was, a simple request of her to spend some time with him, alone. “Yeah, let’s dance.”

They got up from the booth and Daniel left a few bills on the table nodding to Mitchell, while Vala squeezed Sam’s hand and told her she’d see her Monday. Taking her other hand, Daniel led Vala onto the dancefloor and spun her in a tiny circle before wrapping one arm around her waist and holding her hand against his chest.

Vala shivered without feeling cold. “Are you having a good time, darling?”

“Suprisingly, yes, I am,” his gaze never left her eyes. “I honestly thought it would be torture, but who knew dancing could be so pleasurable.”

“Sometimes pleasure can be torturous,” she laid her head against his chest, “like right now.”
