So, even though I am swamped with work (I picked up FIVE new quilts to do today! I thought I was picking up ONE! O.O), and I have a kid who has a sour tummy (thank you, jelly beans), and another who can't stay out of anything (I need more baby gates), I am doing a happy dance. . .
I reached THREADS today on my re-watch! Happy happy happy happy happy! Sigh.
Quilt Related whining will follow, however:
Spoiler:But while I watch it, I'm quilting a quilt that was appliqued by an older woman--it's Sunbonnet Sue and Overall Dan. The Sues are okay--I guess, (I'm not really a Sunbonnet Sue fan) but whatever pattern the person used for Dan makes him look like he's standing at a urinal. So I get to watch Threads while I do stitch in the ditch and a small, spiral fill around a peeing Dan. What's up with that? Maybe instead of Overall Dan, I'll call him Peeing Pete.

For Trinity:
Spoiler:
The scenes from The X Files with AT in them. She played a *cough* escort lady called Carnia Sayles. Her role was fairly short lived... well her character was. The first scnee contains the introduction up to the bedroom scene and the morning after when Skinner finds her dead. The last two are scenes of her in the morgue. Apparently, in one you can see her breathe/move although I can't say I ever examined that scene that closely... meh, well, David Duchovny was on screen during it so I was probably too busy getting lost in his gorgeous eyes to notice anything else.
Anyway, here for all the AT fans and, er, anyone else who wants to do dodgy stuff with it for videos.

fanfic: I love reading them and when someone finally asked me to explain it(mom) I just said it were free books which are sometimes better than the ones she is reading Overall I don't feel the need to explain and when they ask on uni(if a class is really boring I read FF) about it I say it's research
Sites to read FF on; I think the best place to start is FF.net, you can find awesome fanfics there...I would also go to the Sam/Jack fic rec thread to find some really good fanfic; I think it has most of the best fanfic out there recommended in there!

{respectfully snipped}
Oh, now you're just teasing me! LOL. Gotta love someone who just casually drops 'counterfactuals' in a sentence! Yes!
I agree. How can any mother not approve of someone who loves her daughter as he does? And she would see that Sam loves Jack just as much in return. Hmmm...plot bunny...for Grace? Hmmm...
*Pol wanders off, scratching head...*

Stargate OT (no spoilers, just a link)
Spoiler:I read cracked.com and here's a link to the latest photoshop contest Idiotic Real World Uses of Awesome Fictional Technology - I put it in spoilers because the cracked has suggestive stuff and strong language - but #11 (bare butt warning) made me laugh hysterically

Or at least I think he doesn't know.
I was reading one and he asked "So when are you going to post your own story?"
I just mumbled incoherently

just a random thought that popped into my head.
I think strong mother = less hang ups
= more confident Sam getting to the best conclusion more quickly

With their relationship buffered by her mother, Sam didn't feel the need to 'earn' Jacob's approval through becoming like him and thus didn't join the military and, in those universes, she ended up with Jack sooner not only because the regs weren't in the way but neither were Sam's hangups (which she discusses in Grace) caused by her mother's death.
EDIT: Do I have any proof of this? No. But it's my theory and it makes sense and I'm sticking to it

But on-topic,
I think that Jack would understand Sam's need to fiddle with gadgets and would gift her with odd little things to fix and try to figure out. He would know that she needs to be busy, and would appreciate the fact that she's just that way.

i've seen Pandora's Clock where he plays Captain James Holland (who was once in the military), Beyond Betrayal as Bradley Matthews (a Cop who is a obsessed with his ex-wife), In the Eyes of a Stranger (i think he also plays a cop in that one) where he plays Jack Rourke and Through the eyes of a killer (where he plays Ray Bellano) a contractor where he has an affair with a woman and refuses to accept the end of the relationship. i think in all put Pandora's Clock and In the eys of a stranger. his character's get whacked.

Originally posted by Treknik View PostCags, you can't just drop the RDA hot movie comment and not tell us what movie. A little secret, I have never seen an RDA movie or MacGyver episode. Unless you count Continuum, but that is included in my Stargate viewing.
Spoiler:You've never seen MacGyver? Don't mean to slight you , it's just that it was the show of my childhood - everybody was watching it - and I'm always astonished when someone says they haven't seen/heard of it. But then, my little country was always a little behind..
As for his movies, I think I've seen most of them: MacGyver movies, Ordinary Heroes, In the eyes of a stranger, Through the eyes of a killer, Beyond Betrayal, Past the Bleachers and Pandora's Clock.
I haven't seen Legend yet...
Most of RDA's flicks isn't that good, but I've seen worse. Past the Bleachers is very sweet (and has a yummy morning run scene , worth watching just because of it ) and Pandora's Clock is a really decent, enjoyable movie, probably the best of the bunch. I also have a soft spot for Through the eyes of a Killer, because a) it's got some very hot scenes (is this what you meant Cags?), b) it's creepy and c) acting-wise it's some of the best work RDA has ever done; he's great in it. Everybody claiming that the guy can't act should watch this one.
Speaking of his movies, does someone know where can I watch Ordinary Heroes? I watched it once years ago when it aired on tv and I'd love to see it again, but I can't find it anywhere.
