    Vanilla is one of Jack's favorites, I believe. I don't remember where I'd heard or read that, but it's one of the reasons I tend to use it as well. In the field though, I think Sam smells like standard soap (the kind without a scent, because you wouldn't want to smell like strawberries or whatever when you're hiding in the desert from a bunch of Jaffa), sweat, pure Sam and gunpowder and I can totally see Jack digging it. It's probably the same for Jack, except he would smell uniquely like Jack and not Sam

      No I don't. I've just gone back over the stuff I've kept track of reading in the last week or so (it's been that recently that I remember reading it) but I don't have any notes. Which either means the piece was short, without much plot, or I didn't particularly care for it. But in any event, the line stood out.

                            Yes! Jack prefers vanilla to chocolate! So it is a minor pet peeve of mine when I read a fanfic where they get Jack his "favorite" cake and it's chocolate, or they have Jack requesting chocolate over vanilla... I know it's cake and Jack probably likes any cake, but to say chocolate is his favorite annoys me. Crazy trivial pet peeve, I know!

                            Probably stems from the fact that I prefer vanilla over chocolate and I could easily skip cake if it's chocolate, but if it's vanilla based (esp coconut) I have no willpower!
