no one ever means it on purpose, but who likes having the end to a story/movie told to them?

Not the whole story but I routinely flip to the end if a book or story to see who is still standing (no death!fic for me !) and I often ask if I can handle a story of a friend who reads lots of fic with me. I'd rather not have any nasty surprises.

I don't like being told the ending of a story but I do prefer a character death warning in the beginning of a story, because I simply don't like those sort of stories. A general summary of the story like LCJS gave wouldn't really bother me, though.

Agree with this. lots of fic readers like myself prefer certain type of fics. As someone who only reads S/J happy ending fics, to have spent time reading one that's not clear on this and has a death or unhappy ending can be very frustrating and disappointing.

I just had a plot bunny epiphany - anyone know if anyone has re-written POV if a non-military Jack had come thru the mirror instead of Sam? If anyone knows of any fics like this let me know!
