Why do you think this is?
I don't know, but I think it is more a result of a majority of the fans on the Stargate forum being female - at least that's how I think it is. As for the Tok'ra...hmmm...if there are indeed more female than male fans of them, then maybe it's because many people become fans because they think a certain character is attractive? And there are more male Tok'ra that get more screentime than there are female, who mostly are only in one episode or so. With the exception of Anise/Freya who isn't all that popular, strangely enough.
I don't know. I think the Tok'ra are really cool, and I would like to have a symbiote. They are honorably, fascinating, and figths the good fight. That should appeal equally to male and female, I think.sigpic
Thanks to Roeskva for the smilies

I agree in a lot of ways... I was interested in the concept right away when Jolinar was introduced - snakes who're good guys? Epic. Then came the 2-parter "The Tok'ra," where we really meet them. And I was hooked.
Anyone ever tried to imitate a symbiote voice? It's a rather difficult art to master... LOL

It has been my experience... that most guys, if they're gonna play online, its gonna be in an MMO or something, not hanging out on forums. There are always exceptions both ways, of course! but all the male stargate fans I know in person, aren't the type to sit around and chat, lol!
Here's some art by Antiker I think are pretty cool that you guys might like

Great art! Tok'ra town!
Yes, I think fewer male fans hang out on fora, though they do hang out and chat on some of the mmo fora I'd play online games if there was one where you could be a Tok'ra...
Jalnor - yes, I agree on that about the Tok'ra! I was interested from the moment Jolinar was introduced, and then in Tok'ra I&II we got introduced to a whole PEOPLE of symbiotes who fought the Goa'uld and was different. Very interesting. Yes...I've tried doing the symbiote voice, but no success. I think it takes practice. I've considered building some sort of device to change the voice, but it has to sit on the throat or something or else you will hear both the changed voice and your own.sigpic

new to this thing, so I thought I'd make my first post here, since I'm huge Tok'ra fan. Of course, it bugs me what they made Tok'ra like in later seasons, but hey, Tok'ra forever! Their characters are the most complex, if I think about it.

I am rather curious, how do rest of Tok'ra fans see the change they imposed on Tok'ra in later seasons? You see, when they first appeared, they were purely good guys, only a bit cautious about their existence, and in later series, they portrayed them as slightly selfish and arrogant. So, more close to the goa'uld, except the symbiotic relationships, which also were pictured as less harmonic.
Of course, I'm not expecting the symbiotic relationships to be always all perfect, as all sentient beings have their flaws and also their good sides. But still, I personally dislike what they did with Tok'ra later on, not to mention killing off Jacob and Martouf.
