I think it is that Robin hasn't got that command of the scene yet, in Space Milkshake his scenes have the same feel about them, the film loses pace a little as it cuts to him between the very strong Amanda/Billy scenes.

I liked parts with Amanda and Billy Boyd. The ones with Robin were boring IMHO (truth be told I am not really one of his fans)
I am glad I saw it once but it's not a movie I'll ever going to watch again.

Wow, so emotional a scene it nearly made me cry - now I'm really looking forward to that episode too.

The range sounds more comfortable for Pascal than Amanda - Amanda's voice changes on the higher note but Pascal doesn't suggesting Pascal has a higher tessitura than Amanda.

If Amanda sang some more, her voice probably wouldn't change on the higher notes - at least that was what happened to me when I sang in a choir some years ago

I watched that episode over and over again, until it got to the point that now whenever I watch Sanctuary my mother always asks "Is this the one where they're wet?" Of course, considering the typical slant of bottle shows in consequent seasons, that question has evolved into "Are they wet yet?"

Pavor Nocturnus I really enjoy, because it's a dark AU and I love exploring those nitty gritty possibilities of the 'verse. I don't watch it as often though, because it makes me very uncomfortable to watch the decontamination scene.

I found the first 8 minutes of Pavor Nocturnus very distressing to watch. I do like episodes where Sam or Helen are in trouble, but that was almost too much! Well written - and brilliantly acted!

Veritas is actually not one of my favorites. It's the worst by far (and is in fact the best of the AT-directed episodes), but generally I've found I don't enjoy AT-directed episodes as much as the regular shows. The reason for that, I think, is that with AT behind the camera, her presence in the episode is reduced, thereby leaving much of the plot to Will. And Will just doesn't have the presence to pull it off. I don't know if it's down to the writing, or RD's acting, but either way, episodes like Veritas, Uprising, and One Night have simply not been up to par with the rest of the series.

I'm not that much into Will either - so it's pretty strange that my two favorite episodes so far are Helen & Will solo adventures
I didn't know that AT had directed Veritas until I checked the wiki page after watching it. I will pay closer attention the next time I'm watching an episode she's directed.

Amanda and comedy, I had the privilege to see Amanda perform a part in the Vagina Monologues in Toronto. Boy was she funny and had the whole audience laughing, not the section of her fans . I saw both shows and enjoyed them both!

In sanctuary (and other shows she's been in), Amanda has such a strong presence, I find I like scenes she has with the 'older' actors better. My favourite episodes have been with Helen and any of The Five! The scenes with John have run the gamut of emotions, going from hate to caring and

I love the scenes with Watson showing the long friendship and the loss of that friendship with the loss of James. Tesla, well what can we say about Tesla He and Helen have had some of the funniest scenes of the show, he is the annoying friend but you just love to see them together. And last but not least Nigel, he is the one we saw the least of *no pun intended* but he still had a better presence with Helen than the younger characters.

I'm not sure if the problem was weak actors alone, I think the writing of that episode was not on par with other episodes. I also think Damian had a problem writing Will and the other 'kids'. What Will was supposed to be, did not show up on screen and that does go back to the writing.
