I don't doubt Jacob was proud of Sam, but I think *she* may not have known it because he didn't say it. As she says in "Threads" she only really got to know him after he was Tokra-fied. (not her exact words, of course )

I think Selmak did take off some of the rough edges. I can't put my finger on an episode, but I think at least once when Sam is out in the field w/ Jacob/Selmak & the team, he does have a proud look on his face. Does anyone else remember something like this?

Yes, I think they were the same poses. It was probably the first time that people could actually buy them, rather than scans of the pics from the mag.

The moment where Jacob tells Sam he is proud of her just in case the Tok'ra thing doesn't work out.




I think this is the moment where Jacob realizes his little girl is happy with what she is doing. The rough edges are starting to be chipped away. I think this is the turning point for the father and daughter.
