Wow! To the fact that she's done that many and to the fact that you counted. ;-)

Although I can see how doubling that would require some effort. ;-)

Sam: Sir, why are we stopping?
O'Neill: Hockey, Carter. Hockey.
Sam: Sir, I don't think that's a good enough reason to let these people be taken over by the Goa'uld.
O'Neill: Yeah, I know Carter. It's just that I don't trust people who don't like hockey.
Carter: Sir, they've never even heard of hockey.
O'Neill: There is that. We could always teach them. Daniel's always talking about "cultural exchanges..."

Very excited! One of my dear friends, the lovely and talented Kari Sperring, has made the Honor List of this year's Tiptree Award. She didn't win, but it's still a fabulous, fabulous thing.
For those not in the know, the Tiptree webpage is here -http://tiptree.org/
Alice B. Sheldon, a marvelous writer, wrote most of her SF under the pen name of James Tiptree, Jr., as women's writing was not as valued, rewarded, critically acclaimed and regarded as men's.
I'm so pleased for Kari, Living With Ghosts is a wonderful book (but I am biased, I read it when it was a fanfic about 20 years ago!)
And so happy that we have come a long way since Alice was writing. Still room for improvement, of course.

We never should have introduced Teal'c to basketball. Now we can't leave until he finishes his March Madness brackets.

And another neat video I found, a clip from the Paley center premiere of Sanctuary back in 2008: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PGOuZ...eature=related
