finished with s4's 'the other side'. i didn't remember just how much of a jerk jack was in this ep.

he was rude to daniel, rude to sam, and *only* decided to really look at what was going on there when the leader guy was prejudice against teal'c/ethnic ppl. yeah, teal'c was family, but it doesn't excuse his rudeness to daniel and sam.

Yeah, I'd love an AU of Trio, where Sam is more the hero. Though you have to admit she was gutsy in it.

the guy that had to cut off his arm (the real life guy, the movie '127' was based on), was able to do unbelievable stuff, even though he was in bad shape after the cutting limb/no food and water for days. it must be that incredible thing inside us, that make it that we can sustain our lives under extreme situations. (like a mom being able to move a car off her child)

True. people have survived horrible wounds that "should have" killed them.

Probably the best way do that would be to go until she's made the decision, but she's then rescued/found, etc before she goes through with it. It's rather convenient timing, but you get your angst and emotion without either a quick fix or one-arm Helen.

That's a thought.

But by the time Sam is in Atlantis, there are no more Asgard.

I'm the same way, so I've been trying either very short stuff (drabbles?) or something like a short story. I seem to do okay with that length. I don't seem to have the creative ability to do anything that is several chapters or longer. Wish I did.

Maybe you could do more "tag length" stories?

Yeah, I think tags are a good place to start before trying for anything more complex, I'm much better at describing thoughts or emotions as opposed to doing dialog or action. I've been working on one about Sam on Atlantis dealing with the Replicators and a Sam, Jack, and Teal'c one about astronomy, but it's been hard finding time to write between college and work.

Could be wrong but think the Asgaurd were still around when Sam was on Atlantis. As I understood it, Ark of Truth was before she went as she is in the credits as a L. Col, then she goes to Atlantis as full bird Colonel. Continuum is supposed to be after she gets back and that is when the Asguard kill themselves.

Please correct me if I am wrong.

Also as a newbie - what is AT5????
