I noticed that in the theater, and I was like NO WAY! They did NOT just steal the Stargate theme! But I guess they did. Shame. The movie didn't look that great at all, IMO.

Made a new sig in celebration of Ship Day tomorrow. hehehe....

Okay, I must need more history behind this. I thought that July 28th was chosen as Ship Day because YOU all chose that date. Is there something obvious about the date, or about Ship Day that I am missing?

I saw the trailer for that MONTHS ago and thought the same thing. I wish I could think of a good example, but movie themes are used over and over to help promote new movies. We just know that one so well that our ears automatically perked up for it

Actually the two I seem to hear the most for action movies are classical. O Fortuna from Carmina Burana by Carl Orff (sic) and part of Beethovan's Ninth Symphony Choral (4th movement). Hadn't noticed the SG theme though. I watch so much SG on DVD I tend to skip the opening... Gotta get to the good parts!

Maybe I'll go search the post out. I wasn't on Delfi (the old forum home) until this year, so I don't know what they did to celebrate. Was anybody around then?

Oh, it is just the most beautiful song....After I watched Caty's video, I couldn't get it out of my head so I went and bought the CD. I play it over and over and all I see is Sam and Jack. Finally had to write something about it before my head exploded!!
