LOL!!!! I love them Jess! I was making banners this weekend (and painting my livingroom!) but for another forum member. It was nice to make something for someone else... not that it isn't nice to make stuff for myself...err you know what I mean. It's monday and we are racing a deadline....

Oh Wow! A Daniel Sam ship thread! What a great Idea! It would have worked out better if only the writers could have seen.

I know what you mean. TPTB did not know how to do a lot in the early days with both the characters... But we fic writers do use it to our imaginations advantage!! You know I think Jess found an article from back in 97 or so, saying that TPTB were actually thinking about doing S/D pair. Why they went with the *other* ship is beyond me. I could go on about it, but i think we all agree!

LOL "Java Cookie" or "Cookie Java" is actually a code name I made up for the "Carter/Jackson relationship." It was for a short silly little sequel fic I was writing and didn't get to finish. I thought it fit since those two both love "java" and cookies

Welcome to the Sam/Daniel Ship thread, Hathor! It's great to have you here. I definitely know what you mean and I so wish the writers could have seen it. Seems like a wrench keeps getting thrown into the works and they want to keep and as far apart as possible. But the season isn't over yet so I still hold out some hope that we will get some nice scenes. And we do have fanfic to play with - one thing that they can't take away from us!

I know someone was planning to write an AU version of events beginning with season 1 - starting with Sha're dying. It was supposed to have Sam and Daniel friends for a while and Sam comforting Daniel to overcome his grief, and then their relationship gets deeper. I don't know what happened, but hopefully she will get to write it (I think she is one of the posters here, or was one of the posters).

Yup, aint that the truth! I think they actually did a lot more in the early days (though not quite enough for us ) than they do now sadly. But yeah, there was a magazine article from 97 that was an interview with AT. She said that there was a possibility of doing either a S/D pair or S/J but they decided against it because it would hurt the team dynamic (and of course they had to eventually go with the *other* ship... didn't they...).

And AT was also asked at a con back around 2000 if Sam would ever fall in love with Daniel. She said that Daniel is lovely, and that she and MS actually talked during Season 1 and said "Doesn't it make more sense for our characters to fall in love since we're both scientists and passionate about what we do?" Then she told him "Yeah, but you've got this wife." Then she said that Sha're is now gone, rest her soul, and she'd run it by the writers because she thought Daniel could give Jack a run for his money.

So it's interesting to know that they had both talked about this and were interested in the idea!

Welcome back! Ouch... I've been there so I can definitely relate. Thanks for the pics! Some goodies there. I'll start with the first one (sure I can come up with some for the others too...):
