I dont think so mcoy. I was checking wiki and all current destroyers are bigger in length to frigates. Also I think this could be usefull on where ships stick where. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_...classification

Most of the DLGs became cruisers (CG), but the smaller Farraguts became destroyers (DDG).

In general, size is (from smallest to largest):

Carrier (CV/CVN)
Dreadnought or Battleship (BB), also called 'Heavy Attack Cruiser' in star-fleets (HC/HAC)
Battlecruiser (BC in Stargate)
Frigate (FF/FFG)
Cruiser (CG) or Destroyer (DD/DDG)
Corvette or Littoral Combat Ship (LCS)
Gunboat (PG)
Bomber (B)
Fighter (F/ F/A)


Edit: I will grant you, though, that the Arleigh Burke class Destroyer is slightly larger than the Oliver Hazard Perry class Frigate. Originally, destroyers were supposed to be smaller, but now they're growing in size. However, in a star-fleet (in general), a frigate is an escort ship, whereas a destroyer is a smaller ship designed to pack a lot of punch in the smallest possible space.

I have a couple ideas for destroyers but I said since dboy wants to go straight to the asuran war we can say that it is our destroyer till about half way through the war or something when we realize we need something better.

Well we could make a hundred accounts and vote or ask dboy if he would like his ship to be a destroyer instead. Btw have you started making a model for it or are you waiting for the voting to end.

hey on the note of destroyers i've got a really good one that titan hq modeled for me buti was going to wait til after the asuran war till we voted for destroyers and battle carriers and such. The way it should go is that the research into developing ships get side tracket by tryingto get a functional PWARW which takes 4 years then we eventually wipe out Asurans. After the final battle take about 16 ZPM's and a huge amountof drones then a hug wraith fleet apears and we have to run from because we are heavily outnumbered. So we start buildingdifferent classes through the duration of the Wraith war.

Also that story line only works with my final battle so i'll need to write it its goingto be a good one.

nich why did you change your vote from serpent to nemesis. This happened in the GWF fleet as well and it was taken extremely seriosly your origional vote is the one that will be counted and if you dont change it back youwill be disqualified from any further voting. If you had sayed in another post that youno longer want to vote for serpant and to discount your earlier vote that wouldnt be a problem but no editing posts to change your vote without informing anyone. You can either change your vote to the origional or be disqualified from any further voting.

my idea of beam weapons. they arent the death rays. they are earth made, with wraith, ancient and asgard components and tech. i vote for having our tech ancient/wraith based. also to stop making the asgard's death futile in this fleet, i say small settlements of them are still in ida
