It's funny, because (in view of the other comment), I'd've thought you'd take more umbrage at "this isn't about Robin Hood" than about the timing issue.

I say this in part because of your comment that your stories are marked that they are not Robin-centric.

I'm assuming the timing is specific to the show, since no one can definitively say anything about the historical Robin timeline, given that they don't even know for sure who he was (or whether he was).

That definitely set my teeth on edge for the start. To my way of thinking, the phrase, "What is it with the timing?" seemed obnoxious, but as fems pointed out, they could have honestly been asking that question in a non-aggressive way. I hadn't thought of it the way you suggest. It could be that they were asking in relation to the show, as the story in question is the last in a trilogy and is many years in the future.

And you're right--we can track the movements of King Richard, but not of the legendary figure that was (or was not ) Robin Hood. It could be he was pardoned, then the king left and all bets were once more off. As we know from before the king's arrival in England to supposedly pardon Robin, when the cat is away...

One of the original fics I started and recently abandoned (but am looking to get back into) is a Robin Hood fic, so I'm actually going to be researching the timelines of King Richard, Prince John, Saladin, and the Holy Wars. It'll be fun to get all that info in hand once more.

Well I've booked a 'Silver' Ticket for Chevron 8.1 in April.
It's being held at the Radisson Edwardian Hotel Heathrow London. And I am looking forward to going as a couple of 'girlfriends' who I haven't seen in a few years are going.

Plus I know I'll make some new friends.
