When you come from a big family, it takes creativity to get attention from the parents (or Aunts) and that doesn't usually mean being well behaved. The stamp is a form of validation.
Thanks to Pengyn, SamJackShipLover and Mala for the sig.

BTW, I have a sock monkey made by a friend's Mom. It now wears my "cheeky monkey" badge.

We get the occasional bear or big cat wandering through the outskirts of town, and it's a big deal when they do, but mostly they avoid people. Which is why I laugh so hard when people call the police all panicked about something minor like coyotes because they're thinking, "What if they attack a child???" Um... teach your kid not to bother coyotoes and if your kid is small enough to look like lunch to even the underpowered wildlife, maybe you shouldn't be letting them outside unattended in the first place. Even better is when they call the police about raccoons.
