i don't know where the theater is, but i took a cab from the ren to buckingham palace and it cost me 65-70 pounds. it's a long drive. the cabs aren't that large. there was room for 1-2(close) in the back seat with the scooter behind the front seat and i think there was room up front for 1 person. there might be more foot room if it's a wheelchair as opposed to a 3 wheel scooter like mine.

If a bunch of us chipped in, we could rent a town car or limo. It might be the most cost-effective (and fun!) solution.
off plus you'll have to pay the congestion charge, it's not really a good idea. The tube stations aren't massively accessible for handicapped users which is the only issue. On the london underground website I believe it says which ones are and which aren't.sigpic

Julia, let us know if we can help you with the cost of the taxi. It would be great to have you there, and don't want you missing out because your transport is limited. If a few of us chip in it should be sweet.Originally posted by MidwifeOnBoard View PostAbsolutely! I'd be happy to help out as well.Originally posted by NZNeep View PostHow many passengers fit in those things? Even if some of us came with you and chipped in the money we would have spent on the tube That way we would just be paying our own way and there is no way you could feel embarrassed about it
Hugs Julia, we will get you there!
I think a London taxi will hold one wheelchair plus three other people in the back and possibly one in the front, although this might be a bit squashed for the three others in the back.

maybe they have a service devoted purely to those in wheelchairs or scooters
But does anyone know how far it is from London's King's cross to the theatre?
Because we arrive on that afternoon so we could possibly stay in the centre of London for tea to save on a taxi ride.

And as for the drinking.....I haven't had a drop since last I saw you (in person - not on Skype). I don't even have any alcohol in the house. However, if you should manage to make it over here....I will remedy that situation!
Hope you are all having a great time at Oma's. And I wonder, which pictures you would be interested in.
Oh yes! We had a fabulous time with Oma's lovely family

Do Dooo... need to ring them. Can someone in England please ring this number? Phone 0207 272 0272 (deleting any country codes and things you don't need). I will do it if no one gets a chance, but it might cost a bit
The info is
Renaissance London Heathrow Hotel to the Prince Edward Theatre and back on Thursday 10th Feb.
Also ask what it will be from King's Cross to Prince Edward Theatre and back.
Thanks!
I don't know if it's true not, but on their website they reckon they are cheaper than most specialist disabled transport companies.Neep, NZBG, Eileen!

Neep if I get a chance I'll try and ring that number on my lunch break today .
Some of you may remember whilst in Vancouver Jumble invited us all to dinner at Andersons restaurant near her house in Surrey around the time of the con. Well we've fixed on a date - Monday 14th February (yes, Valentine's day!) but it should be fine if we book well in advance!
What we'd like is a list of people who would like to come and we'd like to have a full list by the start of October at the latest so we can book it in.
Anderson's is a local cuisine restaurant specialising in English food particularly. Although the menu will likely have changed quite a bit before we go the website is here. It takes about 45 minutes to get there from Heathrow but we will have at least 3 cars, if not 4 available each with 4 seats.
If we could get a list going on the thread as soon as you know whether or not (and if you'd like to!) come we can book and sort out transport.
Thanks everyone!
