You should use spoiler tags but yes the protagonists should have a lot more tech at their disposal. It's like as if the writers didn't know what they were getting into giving Earth the whole Asgard database so to avoid making it too easy for the protagonists they decided to pretend that beyond beam weapons, transport beams and shields nothing else ever existed.

Most of their tech wasn't very impressive. These Asgard are not as advanced as the ones we are allied with. I am sure of it. Our Asgard could figure out that machine. I think these Asgard came here thousands of years ago and have focused on surviving instead of advancing.

The suits: Ehhh Kull Warrior suits were alot better.
Personal Shield: Ancient personal shields and even Goa'uld personal shields are better.
The Ship: Is ancients. No way around it. When the drive pods came out it was the writers saying, "Look they have an ANCIENT SHIP!!!"
The portable elevator thing was cool.
The stunners were your run of the mill stunners. Seen a hundred races with them.


You also should understand. It is very likely. We don't understand most of the stuff in the Asgard core. It is way too advanced for us to understand. I believe the beam weapons and system on our ships were made very easy to reproduce for us on purpose.


We don't use a lot of tech we have like the So'dan Cloaks because it was make the fights too easy. Same reason why they don't always take a PJ through the gate. Would kill the stories.

Maybe, but their way was the fastest and what do they care about the destruction is caused? It wasn't their tower and their plan involves sacrificing large populations of Humans to get rid of the Wraith so a little hole in the floor of each level is nothing to them.

These Asgard most likely have nothing to do with the Ida Asgards except that they are related since many thousand years back, that said they probably dont know who we are which is why they "broke in" to Atlantis instead of just asking for the device they wanted.
This also means they went down a different techpath than what we're used to from the little gray guys and that would also explain why we have no suchs itms as they do since our Asgards never developed anything like it.

The whole deal with the shield thin needs to stop..the Goa'uld and Ancient shields are hunky dory but...seriously look at this is the grand picture...these Asgard obviously have spent their time focusing on combat...the Asgard of SG1 were scientists...these Asgard are worriors...so the tech is going to be specialized for combat

The helmets of the exosuits are very similar to the helmets of Space Marines from Warhammer 40,000.




Maybe we'll get to see some Asgard Dreadnoughts or Titans.
