Alys- I really like what you're saying here about John because it's something I've picked up in him too. A lot of that 'boyishness' if pure bluff I think. John has a lot of natural charm and he's not afraid to use it but you're right I believe in that he is mature when he has to be. Elizabeth can see that too or there is no way in hades she ever goes to bat that ferociously to get him to remain as her 2IC. That's another thing that I like about this couple too. They each 'get' the other-they 'see thru' the other's weaknesses. Just like Elizabeth can 'see' what a great commander john is and what even greater heights he can be, he sees thru her civilian/female 'shell' to the strong person beneath and realizes what a great 1IC she could be. I really think both of them have been waiting a long, long time for another person to truly understand them and link with them and now, it's just a matter of getting them to see and admit that they've finally found the everything person each has been looking for.

So true! You know, I think a lot of John's 'boyishness' is kind of "I know I'm cute when I do this --- and I know she'll say yes", but I don't think that he'd abuse that. He's more responsible than that in the long run. It's like he knows he can argue the point with Elizabeth 'rationally' and 'seriously', but it's more fun for him to play sometimes.
That brings out the great reactions we see from Elizabeth. No matter what they say, there's no way they could have done the Daniel/Jack relationship with Shep/Weir. They're too amused by each other. When Jack yells at Daniel, he yells at him! There's no way that'd work with John and Elizabeth.

As long as we are discussing dual shippyness I have to shout the Ronon/Teyla love. J/E & R/T are neck & neck for my affections right now.

Actually R/T feels more like my M.O. for shipping couples. One character I LOVE, Love, love, (Ronon) and one I feel completely "meh" about (Teyla). It's a thing with me. Usually I hate one half of my ship.

For some fluffy, I'd check here, and it's suppose to have more ships too, I archived all those myself, some pretty funny shweir ones in there. I was just wondering, anyone on FF that'd like to help me with that C2, I could use some help, all you'd have to do is archive funny shippy stories you came across, if anyone's interested please PM me, thanks.
