i loved the cartoon growing up and i always wondered if they would make a live action movie but im not sold just yet...if in april i see it gets great response from people then ill go see it in theaters but i might just wait until its out on dvd or pay per view....but i do hope its awesome

The popular comic and cartoon character is being made into a movie. Lets say its Superman (forgetting the other movies).

Superman is cast as a black guy from New York who is actually an alien from Mars and is allergic to green rocks. The Kents who raised him were an mexican immigrant and a sweedish model who are accountants.

Superman is played by a 40 year old actor, whos powers are super human strength with the ability to fly with rocket boots. He fights braniac who is a yellow human with no powers other than to make cupcakes. In the end superman dies.


The movie has been *******ized to make money for the company producing it. The fans for the original anime and mange will be outraged that they screwed up the storyline so bad it makes you want to watch the Disney channel.

While it may be a good movie in the end, Dragonball it is not.

Well that still strengthens my dislike for the movie. I mean, I'm not one of those fans who hates it because goku isn't Asian. I am a huge dragonball fan. The kind with the toliet humor and fighting baddies like the red ribbon army and demon piccolo.

I'll still go see the movie though...



I would kill to get my hands on one of the dragonball props.

Hahahaha this movie looks ridiculous. I mean it'd be pretty awesome if the video actually followed a DBZ vibe, like maybe the Cell saga. I really stopped following it at that point as I only watched it for a few years as a kid, but honestly, this looks awful.

It looks more like the Fast and the Furious than a Dragon Ball movie lol.

My alltime favorite show....destroyed. It is ok though...they remade the Hulk after it bombed, perhaps someone somewhere will do the same here. So far I think the only things that are similar to the show are the names of the characters and um, well, hmmm, ok, so it's just the names that are similar. When I go see it in the theater I am going to pretend it has nothing to do with the original.

Is a second Dragonball movie already written?

The first Dragonball: Evolution isn't in theaters until April 10, but star Justin Chatwin tells MTV.com that a second one has already been scripted.

"I know they've written a second one, and it's pretty far out there," Chatwin ("Goku") told the site. Goku is the hero who seeks to recover the powerful dragonballs and protect the world from the evil Lord Piccolo (James Marsters).

"The second one really goes to some different places that I've never seen in any comic book adaptation," Chatwin added.

Chatwin said that he hasn't read the sequel script yet, but that he's been told a lot about it and that he and co-star Emmy Rossum ("Bulma") would jump at the chance to return for more.

Likewise, Marsters is not only ready for a second chapter, but would also like to see the franchise continue indefinitely.

Well having already seen the film, through the wonders of the internet, hey it not my fault they cannot arrange world wide release. It a pretty good movie.
Okay the marshal arts tourenment was a tad tame but everything else was pretty cool, the fight scene was good, the characters were all indentiviable from the animated series. And although It lack some of the talking animals, which is a shame, and of cause what peed of most fans, Goku hair.

The monkey transformation could of been slightly bigger in scale but they were trying to keep it sligthtly realistic and I think it was better how they did it in the movie.
piccalo was wicked, and yes people, him and Goku started out as arch enemies and then slowly became best buddies over time, I am no expert but even I know that.
And yes he always had telekinesis and destroyed pyramids with his mind. Just a other complaint I heard on a forum somewhere.

So overall, it will not be picking up best films awards and is not a match for Watchman, but it a fun little movie which does things wells and stick to the history Dragon Ball. And it beat scream 10 or what ever number they are up to.
