Actually being serious for a while (only temporarily, I assure you), it always struck me as very bad that Eccleston was allowed to keep his Northern accent when he played the Doctor, but Tennant was not. It could have understood if Davis had insisted that both use a 'home counties' accent, or if he allowed both to use their native accent, but in allowing one and not the other it is at though he is saying "North England Good - Scotland bad", which I don't really think is fair or right, and is slightly racist.
OK, serious over, I'll now go back to looking down on those skirt wearing savages from north of Hadrian's wall who's national dish is a sheep's stomach stuffed with it's other internal organs.
