It does. I've just seen a bit about Children in Need in the new DWM.

"As well as featuring the first proper glimpse of the Christmas Special, the title of the story will also be revealed."

And in his Production Notes, Steven Moffat says

"Well - and the Doctor Who Christmas Special, of course. Soon you will know the title, and a bit more will become clear..."

    Roll on Friday!

Hmm... sixties/seventies classic monsters... Ice Warriors?
And now it's time for one last bow, like all your other selves. Eleven's hour is over now... the clock is striking Twelve's.

          Ice Warriors and Sensorites please.

          Signed,
          The Fanbase"

Teselecta: "Silence will fall when the question is asked."

Doctor: "And what is the question?"

Teselecta: "How much wood could a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood?"

          Doctor: " *Brainfart* ".

Children in Need update - Doctor's Costume for auction
Thursday, November 17, 2011 - Posted by Chuck Foster

The BBC have released three promotional images of Matt Smith as the Doctor for tomorrow's Children in Need evening:

            Image 1: http://i595.photobucket.com/albums/t...1/cin/cin1.jpg

            Image 2: http://i595.photobucket.com/albums/t...1/cin/cin2.jpg

            Image 3: http://i595.photobucket.com/albums/t...1/cin/cin3.jpg

The special mini-episode was recorded yesterday at BBC Television Centre in London - the first time that the Doctor has been filmed there for an episode of Doctor Who since Ghost Light wrapped in 1989 - and directed by Richard Senior (Let's Kill Hitler). The episode, written by show-runner Steven Moffat, sees the Doctor offering viewers the chance to win his tweed jacket (as seen in The Doctor's Wife), bow-tie as well as other items, which will be added to the charity's online auction; the winning bidder will also receive a signed copy of the script.

            Matt Smith said:
I'd say the tweed jacket or the bow-tie are the most iconic - although the boots are my personal favourite. I hope people donate generously for BBC Children in Need because it's a wonderful cause - and we've got to beat last year's total.

            The auction closes on Monday.

The title of the Christmas Special is also to be revealed during the evening, with an exclusive preview of the episode scheduled for between 8:00-8:30pm.

DrWho Online are holding an auction to raise money for Children in Need, with a package including a signed poster by David Tennant, the Brilliant Book of Doctor Who 2012, the 2012 Doctor Who calendar, and many other items; full details and how to bid may be found on their website.

Sega has announced that it has acquired games developer Three Rings, the company that has partnered with BBC Worldwide to create an online virtual multi-user Doctor Who game world, Doctor Who: Worlds in Time.

Daniel James, CEO of Three Rings, said:

SEGA is also excited to be collaborating with us and the BBC to bring Doctor Who: Worlds in Time to completion. In particular, SEGA has a very strong presence in the UK, and many SEGA folks there are great fans of the show.

Sega involvement? There goes any hopes of getting a decent game. Still waiting on Shenmue 3 for about 10 years and I don't think they've released a decent Sonic game in just as long.

Just a public holiday. It gets observed in the UK, Australia, Canada, New Zealand, and some other Commonwealth nations. In Ireland its called something else (might be St. Stephen's Day but I'm not entirely certain of that). How it came to be known as Boxing Day I don't think anyone knows but I could be wrong on that.

Might also help to say 26th December (fixed date: the day after Christmas Day). In the UK (and maybe the countries listed above) it's often the day that people go visit their relatives as part of the Christmas holidays/celebrations.
