Torchwood Episode Discussion (Spoilers for all eps aired in the UK)

Ok, the proper firearms handling proceedure that Owen and Ianto should have followed goes something like this...

1 - Owen ejects the magazine from his pistol.
2 - He then pulls back the top slide, and shows Ianto the empty chamber.
3 - He then passed the weapon to Ianto with the words "Weapon clear".
4 - Ianto then examines the pistol for himself, pulling back the slide to confirm for himself that it is unloaded, "Weapon clear".
5 - Ianto then engages the weapon's safety catch.

The moral of the story is - always treat an unfamiliar weapon as though it's fully loaded with live ammunition.

And before anyone ask how I know all this - well, I've a friend who's an ex-Royal Marine who's done a lot of close protection work.

In the States a binky is (if I'm following the discussion coreectly) a childs blanket, that's dragged through the house by them up untill it falls apart/their ready to give it up.

Also in some social circles, it could refer to a persons name, a man usually. But I've never met someone someone named Binky. Guess I'm not in that circle.
