BSG 4x14 Blood On The Scales trailer :

"I was hoping for another day. Looks like we just got a whole lot more than that. Let's not waste it."

"Never underestimate your audience. They're generally sensitive, intelligent people who respond positively to quality entertainment."

"Individual science fiction stories may seem as trivial as ever to the blinder critics and philosophers of today, but the core of science fiction, its essence, has become crucial to our salvation, if we are to be saved at all."

Are there plans for any other Battlestar Galactica alums to return before the finale? — David

        Spoiler:
MICKEY: Well, Kate Vernon, who plays Ellen Tigh, tells us that she'll return to the show soon "to reunite with my husband in the good old-fashioned way." Another familiar face will reappear, but my BSG mole has sworn me to secrecy. Ah, gods be damned, I'll tell you this: One of the character's initials is A, and if I gave you the other it would give it away. (And no, it's not Anastasia Dualla — she's definitely dead.)

                  Sackhoff's roles 'complex', 'evolving'
Actress also came through bout with thyroid cancer

By Kat Angus, Canwest News ServiceFebruary 9, 2009

You'll have to excuse me, I'm on the treadmill," Katee Sackhoff says, a little breathlessly.

The Battlestar Galactica actress is pushing herself to get into shape for her latest gig, playing a tempestuous police officer on Dick Wolf's upcoming cop drama, Lost and Found. After four seasons on Battlestar as the tough, physically intimidating Kara "Starbuck" Thrace, relentlessly fighting to save the human race from extinction, one might think Sackhoff would be used to intense workouts by now. But, the actress says, her new regime is far more intense than anything she did for the hit sci-fi series.

Below is an interview with Michael Angeli, who wrote "Blood on the Scales," Friday's episode of "Battlestar Galactica." The interview is followed by some thoughts from me on this episode, which continues the intense events that began in "The Oath."

Please don't proceed unless you've seen the episode.

There's lots more info on this site about the three proceeding episodes of "Battlestar Galactica": Look here for more on "The Oath," here for "A Disquiet Follows My Soul" and here for "Sometimes a Great Notion."

What do you think of Tom Zarek?

There's been a spirited debate in the comment area of last Friday's post on "Blood on the Scales," the most recent episode of "Battlestar Galactica." That piece contains an interview with Michael Angeli, who wrote the episode, and some analysis of the episode from me.

Readers have continued to weigh in with their own takes on the episode, which continued the tense events that began in "The Oath."

Also commenting on that post: Actor Richard Hatch, who plays Tom Zarek on the show.

Here are a few "Battlestar Galactica" and "Caprica" notes for you before we head into the weekend.

UPDATE: The interview with the writer of the Feb. 6 episode of "Battlestar" is here. First of all, I will post a Q&A with Michael Angeli, who wrote Friday's episode of "Battlestar Galactica," after the episode airs tonight.

"Caprica," the "Battlestar" prequel that won't debut until 2010, will actually give fans a glimpse at the show's two-hour pilot early. You'll be able to buy a longer cut of the pilot on DVD and online on April 21.

Battlestar Galactica: Razor’ adds a nice dimension to the BSG story
                            Feb 10 2009

The extended version of the November 2007 made-for-TV movie “Battlestar Galactica: Razor” is much frakkin’ better to watch on DVD for all the reasons that apply regarding the rest of Battlestar Galactica” (BSG) Season 4.0 DVD set that includes this movie. The sound and picture quality are far superior than I get from my cable company, and not having any commercial interruptions makes following the somewhat complex story easier
