i knew i had to remove img tags for something like this

When quoting a post with any images in it, you must remove all the img tags. Its very clearly stated in the GW rules

Oops. Sorry.

I posted before I'd even gotten the toothpicks into my eyelids to keep them open! I'm still having that problem, but doing a bit better. Some tea will help.
