Welcome to GateWorld Forum! If this is your first visit, we hope you'll sign up and join our Stargate community. If you have questions, start with the FAQ. We've been going strong since 2004, are we are glad you are here.
I just happened to come across a freeware program called Inkscape while searching some stuff. I thought I would mention this for anyone looking for a freeware vector graphics editor.
Your challenge this week is to make art using some of the words from the lyrics to You'll Be Back from Hamilton. Lyrics in the spoiler and you can pick as many or as few or whichever of the words you choose to inspire your art!
Spoiler:
You say
The price of my love’s not a price that you’re willing to pay
You cry
In your tea which you hurl in the sea when you see me go by
Why so sad?
Remember we made an arrangement when you went away
Now you’re making me mad
Remember, despite our estrangement, I’m your man
You’ll be back, soon you’ll see
You’ll remember you belong to me
You’ll be back, time will tell
You’ll remember that I served you well
Oceans rise, empires fall
We have seen each other through it all
And when push comes to shove
I will send a fully armed battalion to remind you of my love!
[Chorus: KING GEORGE ]
Da da da dat da dat da da da da ya da
Da da dat dat da ya da!
Da da da dat da dat da da da da ya da
Da da dat dat da…
[Verse 2: KING GEORGE]
You say our love is draining and you can’t go on
You’ll be the one complaining when I am gone...
And no, don’t change the subject
Cuz you’re my favorite subject
My sweet, submissive subject
My loyal, royal subject
Forever and ever and ever and ever and ever…
[Verse 3: KING GEORGE]
You’ll be back like before
I will fight the fight and win the war
For your love, for your praise
And I’ll love you till my dying days
When you’re gone, I’ll go mad
So don’t throw away this thing we had
Cuz when push comes to shove
I will kill your friends and family to remind you of my love
[Chorus: KING GEORGE ]
Da da da dat da dat da da da da ya da
Da da dat dat da ya da!
Da da da dat da dat da da da da ya da
Da da dat—
Everybody!
[Chorus: FULL ENSEMBLE]
Da da da dat da dat da da da da ya da
Da da dat dat da ya da!
Da da da dat da dat da da da da ya da da da da
Dat dat da ya da!
Hopefully everyone can find some useful phrases in there for all sorts of artwork!
(Hamilton opened in London this week, so picking King George's song seemed only appropriate )

Roll up, roll up for the Artwork for All Secret Santa 2017!
Here's how it will work:
1. Sign up on this form! You have until FRIDAY 8th DECEMBER to do so. If you want to join in, you *must* sign up by this date.
2. We need to know who you are, what fandoms/people/ships/things you like, so that your Secret Santa knows what to make. We also need to know what fandoms you are willing to make stuff for, so that we can pair you up with someone with whom you have at least one fandom in common.
3. Secret Santa allocations will be given out on Saturday 9th December so that you can get to work. You can make as much as you like, but at a minimum try to make at least one wallpaper or a sig/avi set.
4. PM your gifts to JOSIANE by FRIDAY 22nd DECEMBER! Do not send them directly to your Secret Santa recipient. Josi will distribute all the gifts on Saturday 23rd December so that everyone gets them at the same time and in time for Christmas.
5. If for any reason you realise you won't have time to make anything after all, please tell Josi as soon as possible, and at the latest by Saturday 16th December so that we can try to find someone else to make a gift so that your recipient doesn't miss out.
I tried this software out for a while and did not get warm with it, but maybe the way I do digi-art just does not fit with it
Well, not every art program is for everybody. I did mess around with a similar program years ago called Freehand, a version before Adobe owned it and stopped making it just like they did with Fireworks.

PLEASE SEND YOUR SIGNED ENTRIES TO SARAI BY 5PM UK TIME ON FRIDAY - Thanks
But if anyone is interested I could also give a little help in how to shade things in traditional drawings on paper, that however will take a bit so, it will be better if those of you who are interested PM me
Thank you for the Santa tut, Az'ryel. I haven't made it past matchstick men either, so this is certainly helpful.
