Photobucket is pretty limited in what it will let you do. GIMP is the best free program and as Lilith said there's lots of people here who use it and can give you help as you learn. There's also various free online programs like pixlr.com - I've never used it myself but it looks like it does the basics and would certainly let you combine more than one image.

I've been playing this afternoon, for the challenge. First up, my all-time favourite male character, Josh Lyman from The West Wing:

Well, to be fair, I'm laid out with a bad cold that cropped up at the beginning of summer rather than working to prepare for a church garage sale, but hey! Gave me time to work with one of my all-time favorite thunks.
