Mueller stated in the report, and now in congress that trump would have been indicted if he were not the POTUS, and (if) he leaves before croaking, he still can be.
Made no difference when the report came out, makes no difference now.
Probably the only thing I thought was interesting...

I didn't follow word for word.

Let's talk Belgian politics... on that notion... do we even have a government yet? *ponders*
I think the Germans have one, so do the French and did Flanders have one yet... no idea... Federal, most certainly not... yet.

This does not bode well for the Democrats.

These guys are going to eat themselves alive. If anyone is worried that Trump might not play fair in 2020, relax. He's not gonna have to cheat. The Democrats are gonna hand him the keys to the white house for 4 more years all by themselves.

I disagree. As a matter of fact most of the youngest candidates will be tossed aside and Bernie and Warren came out in a much stronger position. A possible scenario would be Biden crumbling down under his debatable past, and Bernie snatching the Throne for the 2020's.

Funny how all of you dismissed Bernie a while ago saying he had 0 chances yet his support grows every day. Biden isn't a real progressive, he's a half-assed establishments middle man in consort with the Snake Clinton that doesn't want to hurt anybody's feelings bc he's whoring for votes.

I don’t want to be human. I want to see gamma rays, I want to hear X-rays, and I want to smell dark matter. Do you see the absurdity of what I am? I can’t even express these things properly, because I have to—I have to conceptualize complex ideas in this stupid, limiting spoken language, but I know I want to reach out with something other than these prehensile paws, and feel the solar wind of a supernova flowing over me. I’m a machine, and I can know much more.

But really what can he do until he gets re-elected? I think the answer is not much. It's a PR stunt for the upcoming election to galvanize his radical base if you ask me.

tbh I dunno why would he have less power now than after general elections?
in fact why did they even have those special elections? why didn't Theresa May's resignation trigger a real election?

problem is Bernie's intent to suddenly abolish private insurance could be suicidal in this country to basically take away people's choice isn't exactly american
that's also why Trump's hardline Prolife(tm) stance could also undermine his own chances

there are countries with universal healthcare where the public & private system still work side by side

PS. I liked Tulsi's intervention against Kamala (Joe must've appreciated her taking some of the heat away from him lol) what goes round comes round
of course she wouldn't stand much of a chance against the Don either

I am by no means a political expert but in short, parliamentary system is a mess. The latest GE of UK was in 2017, so technically the next one is in 2022. (it's 5 years in the UK, 4 in Canada, no clue what it is in Australia). In a Parliamentary system, the death or resignation of the PM does not automatically triggers an election, the replacement is picked from within the party that holds power. That's how he was elected PM.

That being said, Boris right now has vowed to fulfill the TORY agenda by BREXITing and won't call another election (a snap election) before the end of October. Simply put, he needs to ensure that the British are supporting him and consolidate his power to prove he has legitimacy to pursue his agenda. The Brexit doesn't count because that was the mandate May was elected for.

Prime Ministers have much more powers than Presidents for the simple fact that they are elected by legislature, not some bullsh!t college that picks the winner.

so who got to vote then - every UK citizen? or just a portion of the electorate? (ie. registered conservatives only etc.)

No one wearing the socialist label is gonna win the general election. We aren't a socialist country. Bernie had a chance in 2016, largely due to a lack of widespread understanding of just what socialism entails. He won't have that advantage this time around.

                            UK voted Tory = May
                            May lost credibility, she resigns
Boris is voted as successor from within his wing, the people didn't choose him
He needs to launch elections relatively soon to confirm the people want him as PM, so everyone will eventually vote for him

The only reason he was chosen is because Boris is deemed to be the most charismatic of his wing, and you know, whatever it takes to keep power.

actually it's the other way around "socialist" had an evil connotation back in 2016 (associated with commies & Stalin & what not) but now that the commonfolk know they've a lot to gain from it especially after the tycoon let them down Bernie's chances have improved

Stop speaking for all Americans when you are actually the minority, remember the last polls? Yea. Say I, not we. You do not represent the majority by a long shot.
