I don't know anything about Cricket other than that it appears to be some alternative form of "American Baseball", and instead of using a 'normal' bat, it uses a flat board with a handle. But then... I'm an American... what do I know? In any case, I hope that each of your respective favored teams do well, and you get tons of enjoyment out of it. I don't really follow sports at all myself, not even the American ones.

As I said, I don't know anything about Cricket... as I'm sure that is quite obvious to those people that do. On the other hand, I'm sure there is some sport somewhere you know nothing about either. So it's all good.

Yeah, that's why he became an umpire, he was a first class player, but is now a world class umpire.

All I am going to say is Congrats to the Poms um, English *Looks at her location* *cough* It is not Ricky Ponting's fault! Well maybe just a little.

Ah I really enjoyed it but staying up till 4am to see the anti-climax. Nothing wrong with Billy he is a breath of fresh air to the often stayed Umpires around.

We need more umpires like 'Dickie' Bird, the more character's we have in cricket umpires the better, I don't think Ponting will ever live down the decision to make England bat in the Second Test and Shane Warne will never live down dropping Kevin Pieterson in the last test, according to the press, they don't blame Ponting (Which is unusual 'cos the captain ALWAYS gets the blame un less you're David Beckham then Sven gets the blame) so much as Cricket Australia, the one critisism I did see cropping up a lot was the age of the Australian team

Actually... I didn't copy anything. I wasn't around when the game was invented. Of course I know what you mean. I'm only splitting hairs in good humour.

I did'nt follow the game or was bothered who won..... But I was in TRAFALGAR SQUARE yesterday to see the team bus arrive. LOL I spent my time suffering with the heat and crowds (I hate crowds) and texting GateGipsy who was watching at home.

I got to sing jerusolem the first time. But I missed the second time they sang it.

Gips was looking for me, but the cameras never came in my direction. It was a loverly atmosphere in the square. But a bit much for me, so I did'nt stay long.

Aw, he always had a story to tell they would get him on the radio and away he would go. I don't remember any of them.

Well Steve Waugh is supporting him so that is good enough for me. Um, you do realise that this does not make England a better team than Australia? Still a lot of cricket to be played before you can claim that and we are still on top officially.

Long before you and I were born, others beat these benches with their empty cups,
To the night and its stars, to the here and now with who we are.

Another sunrise with my sad captains, with who I choose to lose my mind,
And if it's all we only pass this way but once, what a perfect waste of time.

Every team has it's time in the Sun, years ago the West Indies were the best in the world and no one could touch them. A fewyears ago England were whitewashed by New Zealand and were officially bottom of the World's cricket teams. Every dog has it's day, as they say

How did the commentators tell the difference between Steve Waugh and his brother Mark?
