My question is: how are they keeping in shape on Atlantis? They can still run, swim, and train. However as the season progressed I'd imagine everyone would gradually get weaker from the stress and from not lifting. They'd also become more malnutrished as their diets change to a function of the available rations rather than proper balanced meals. (Wouldn't eating MREs for a year become unhealthy?) Is there an Ancient weight room or something in the city?

Originally posted by MedusAI'm trying to become a professional actor, atm, I'm stuck in amature theatreville, which is charming, but I can't do it all the time because I have to earn money. I'm trying to get as wide a skill base as possible, music, clowning, street performing, etc. I'd love to get some martial arts training under my belt. I've done a bit of staff work (my friends and I do fire twirling), but being 19 I'm a bit scared to join a martial arts school. I'm not exactly the fittest person around and while I like being laughed at when I'm trying to entertain people, it's not something I appreciate when I'm trying to learn something new. Any advice?

There are various levels to obtain on your reputation, but it's not all that to be honest. I don't value anyone's posts less because they don't have a high rep, and I would hope that no-one else has the idea that it's particularly important...

I don't value that system too much, I've got some pretty nasty comments in there. Just wish there was a way to just delete them. But I do like you can now see who gave you the nasty or good comment.Last edited by Saqqara; 01 June 2005, 11:15 AM.

With all the training and with working the long hours on set do you follow a special diet to keep your body/muscles in shape?

Oh, You couldn't give away how as a stuntman you would be impaled could you?
I know how you impale a person IRL, and all that grossness, but have always been interested in how it's pulled off by the stuntmen......if you can give it away

When I want to get back into performing shape, I do follow somewhat of a special diet, but nothing that you have not heard of before. When I am a stuntman and not a coordinator, the actors I usually double for are between 175 and 185 pounds so I have to keep the waist small. High protein, low fat, low starch. I do a cleanse at least once a year to get rid of impurities from red meat...........etc..........................
The weight is why I'm so glad I'm not in front of the camera anymore, IF I wanted a cookie I can have one LOL

Cleansing is a way to get rid of all the impurites from your body. I don't know how James does it but for me it's my overall diet, excersise and a couple times a year I fast for a week, water, tea, sauna and other cleansing things, under a doctor's supervison of course, I go to a place in Los Angeles. Weekly I drink a juice that I make with various fruits.
Never do these cleansing things without talking to your doctor first and or staying at a facility where you can be monitored. and I shower everyday as wellLast edited by Saqqara; 03 June 2005, 05:31 AM.
