    Brian J Smith – SGU

    http://www.movieplayer.it/articoli/0...tenente-scott/

    excerpt:

Stargate Universe's Brian J. Smith on fart machines and sex
Brian J. Smith, star of Syfy's Stargate Universe, dishes about the cast in the second part of our exclusive video interview, revealing who owns a fart machine and giving us his dead-on impression of co-star Robert Carlyle.
Smith, who plays Lt. Matthew Scott, also offers up insights into the future of Scott's relationship with Chloe (Elyse Levesque) as the first season resumes on April 2 at 9 p.m. ET/PT.
"With Chloe and Scott, I never really thought it was about sex," Smith says, adding: "That relationship is based on two people who look into each other's eyes ... and understand a kind of pain that very few people understand."

Oooh, that's just not a dead-on impression of Carlyle there, Brian.

          Night of 100 Stars

          Night of 100 Stars

After attending Norby Walter’s Night of 100 Stars Oscar Viewing Party at the Beverly Hills Hotel for 20 years, it feels like family. Everyone greets each other with a warm embrace, and that’s not bad – considering some of the “family” include Bo Derek, Stefanie Powers, Lou Diamond Phillips and Kevin Sorbo (Hercules) to name a few. Actually over 150 stars are invited to this Black-tie, sit-down dinner viewing party, and believe me, there is plenty to view – besides what is on the TV.

COMIC-CON 2010: 'Stargate Universe' and 'Caprica' -- a Syfy double feature

                http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/hero...d-caprica.html

The first session, which was moderated by series co-creator Robert Cooper, included actors Robert Carlyle, Alaina Huffman, David Blue and Ming-Na. Blue fielded the most questions from the Comic-Con crowd — probably because he's so much like his character, Eli, who is a lot like attendees themselves: a gamer, a genre movie and TV buff and an ironic referencer of pop culture.

SDCC10: Ming Na from ‘Stargate Universe’ Talks Portraying a Lesbian and her Love for Twitter

During a Q&A session for Stargate Universe, actress Ming Na opened up about playing recurring character Camille Wray on the popular Syfy series. The actress was quite candid about her hesitations about taking on the role, advocating for a character that had depth beyond the obvious sex appeal.
“I had a small amount of hesitation because I wasn’t sure how they were going to write the character and what would come out of that particular character choice. But, after speaking with (creators) Robert Cooper and Brad Wright, I felt very comfortable that they were going to really give a great deal of respect and thought and it wasn’t just going to be eye candy with these two girls, you know, getting it on

For starters there is the matter of the trailer, which you can actually watch yourself in the next 24 hours by going to the Zune Market Place.

But now for the nitty-gritty. Here is a bulleted list of everything revealed from the panel:
                Spoiler:
                · Eli, played by David Blue, gets some lovin’ in the next season. According the Blue, he approached Cooper and asked “When is Eli going to get lucky?” Cooper responded, “How much more lucky can you get?” Blue’s response? “More lucky.” While he did his best to avoid spoilers, it was revealed that he becomes involved with someone from the Lucian Alliance
                · Carlyle, who plays Nicholas Rush on the show, will be directing one of the episodes next season titled “Pathogen”. The episode is the first time that Carlyle has directed anything outside of the theater.
                · This next one is a bit of a SPOILER so be warned: during season two, Rush discovers the bridge of Destiny but doesn’t tell anybody about it
                · In the upcoming episode “Twin Destinies,” Rush meets himself from the future to who tries to prevent a catastrophic incident that puts everyone’s lives in jeopardy.
                · Robert Picardo and David Hewlett, who played Richard Woolsey and Dr. Rodney McKay on Stargate Atlantis, will be returning. During that stint, Adam and McKay are going to get into a fight
                · When asked if the furlings would be coming back, Cooper said that you will have to keep watching, adding “How do you know you haven’t seen them?”
                · In the second season Eli begins to take on more responsibility and actually gets fed up and pissed during the season. According to Blue, Eli grew a lot in season one, and does so four times as much in season two.
                · In an episode titled “The Greater Good,” there is a major confrontation between Rush and Young where they realize that, if things keep going as they are, they will be stuck together until one of them dies so they might as well try and get along.

Exclusive Interview: Stargate Universe's Alaina Huffman Discusses Relationships and Babies at Comic Con

Both on screen and off, Alaina Huffman, star of Stargate Universe is a soldier. As Lt. Tamara Johansen, Huffman plays the compassionate and very pregnant love interest of Colonel Everett Young (Justin Louis). However, what most people don’t realize is that Huffman was not just “acting” the part of a pregnant woman. Her off-screen pregnancy was actually scripted into the story.
In this interview, Huffman discusses her role as Lt. Tamara Johansen as well as Stargate Universe Season 2 and her relationships Camile Wray (Ming-Na) and Young. She also discusses what it was like to be covered in blood makeup, while she was pregnant.

Dr. Rush will go head to head with Samuel. Plus, Eli gets a girl!
Heroes' Robert Knepper (Prison Break) is introduced as a new villain who goes head to head with Dr. Rush. There were also clips of Eli getting ultra-friendly with a new red-headed girl from the Lucian Alliance who will become an actual love interest for him. Dr. Rush himself discovers the hidden "bridge" of the Destiny and geeks out. "I'm a bit nerdy too," Carlyle laughed. Rush, being Rush of course, decides to keep the discovery a secret from the rest of the crew. Lou Diamond Phillips' Lt. Telford is also shown in a few scenes, but it's not clear if he's alive and survived the Season 1 finale or if he's a figment of Young's imagination.

If you were at the SGU Comic Con panel – or followed the fallout on twitter – you by now already know the identity of the two Stargate: Atlantis vets who will be putting in an appearance on Stargate: Universe. Yes, it’s true. Robert Picardo and David Hewlett will be reprising their roles as Richard Woolsey and Dr. Rodney McKay for a late season two episode titled Seizure. As for who is experiencing the seizure and/or what is being seized – stay tuned!

If you haven’t already heard we have Robert Picardo and David Hewlett coming back for an episode this year. I just wanted to ask the panel, back in season 4 of Atlantis in the episode titled “Midway” we had Teal’c battle Ronin. And I think Eli is actually going to take on McKay”, revealed producer Robert Cooper.

Is Stargate's Destiny Turning Into The Love Boat?

Love is in the air for Season 2 of "Stargate: Universe" as both Eli and T.J. will explore new relationships.
During the recent SGU panel at San Diego Comic-Con, producers and actors from the popular Syfy show said that now that the Lucian Alliance is on board, new strategic partnerships will have to be struck -- some which might be a little less professional. That could include some geek loving for David Blue's Eli character, as well as a new romance for Alaina Huffman's T.J.

Stargate Universe will have plenty of revelations: Executive producer

The two Stargate franchise stalwarts approached MGM and the idea turned into the
third instalment of the television empire that has injected $1 billion into the
B.C. economy over the last 15 years.

Robert Carlyle was their first choice for central character Nicholas Rush.

"I didn't want our hero to be a hero," said Wright. "Robert Carlyle is the
perfect actor to play a character that is both likable and unlikable."

In keeping with that, Wright and Cooper didn't want to follow the formula they'd
used with such great success in Stargate SG-1 and Stargate Atlantis.

                    -------------------------------

Idea of isolation from Earth drew Robert Carlyle to Stargate Universe role

Dr. Nicholas Rush is not just a son-of-a-*****.
At least he isn’t to Robert Carlyle, the veteran Scottish actor who plays troubled genius Rush on the Space network’s most watched show, Stargate Universe.
Season 2 premieres Friday on Space in Canada, although the series will debut earlier in the U.S. on Syfy.
“I think he’s far more complex than that,” said Carlyle during a recent tour of the SGU set at Bridge Studios in Burnaby where the MGM series is created. “I think you could argue the case for everything he’s done.

Co-Creator/Writer/Executive Producer Brad Wright On Set Video Interview STARGATE
                    UNIVERSE

                    Brad Wright

With Stargate Universe returning with new episodes on Tuesday, September 28 on Syfy, I was invited – along with a few other online journalists – to visit the Vancouver set a few weeks ago. While on set I got to see a number of the SGU soundstages, interview the entire cast, and I was also able to check out the new Bridge set that was built for season two. As a big fan of SGU, it was very cool to see the Destiny ship up close and also interview everyone who brings the show to life.
Anyway, while on set I was able to speak with co-creator/writer/executive producer Brad Wright. Actually, I got to speak with him in the Gate room on the Destiny ship (which was very cool). During my exclusive interview we talked about what’s coming up on season 2, how far they’ve planned the show, what other original Stargate characters are visiting SGU (he reveals McKay and Woolsey from Stargate Atlantis are stopping by) and so much more. If you’re a fan of SGU, you’ll learn a lot about what’s coming up after the break:

During the Blue and Levesque interview, they both talked about what’s coming up for their characters in season two, what it’s really like to make the show, how much do they know about the upcoming storyline, how do they feel about the move to Tuesday nights from Fridays, and a lot more.
As usual, I’ve time indexed the interview so you can see what they talk about before watching. Look for another SGU interview tomorrow. And make sure you remember SGU has moved to Tuesday nights.

Lou Diamond Phillips sparkles in ‘Stargate Universe’ role

Until his breakout role in the 1987 film “La Bamba,” Lou Diamond Phillips’ characters went by these descriptive names: Punk 1, Terrorist and Sidewalk Thug.

                        Now he’s called sir.

Phillips is back as Col. David Telford in Syfy’s “SGU: Stargate: Universe” (tonight at 9 on Syfy.). SGU follows a group of scientists, soldiers and civilians stranded aboard a starship, the Destiny, which is locked on an unknown course. As a career Air Force man, Telford sees his mission as a simple one: returning to Earth. Getting it done, however, isn’t so straightforward.
