Wow that's harsh. Did the instructor mention the difference in class or was it mentioned in the required reading?

The instructor said it wasnt the correct term for what I was referring to. He said its a common mistake to make but a mistake nonetheless.

I've had that happen to me as well. Deceleration is not a real word. In the sciency sense.

To bad, it sounds a whole lot cooler than "reverse acceleration" even though the latter is a more precise way of saying it (at least in physics)

Actually negative acceleration might be more accurate than reverse acceleration. But, really, it's just acceleration (with a negative vector relative to current velocity).

Yeah. Iv decided for the purpose of this forum considering I doubt most people dont actually do physics that Ill just let the use of the word deceleration without me saying anything about it anymore.
