        CBC weighs 'Fancy' comedy pilot
Half-hour comedy centers on complicated kids TV host

        By Etan Vlessing

        Oct 15, 2009, 06:22 PM ET

TORONTO – The Canadian Broadcasting Corp. (CBC) is weighing "Fancy," a half-hour comedy pilot about a complicated kids TV host from Vancouver-based indie producer Gang of Two and Crescent Entertainment, as a possible 2010 series pick-up.

The comedy pilot, written by Hopkins and starring Kate Hewlett, Pat McKenna and Jana Peck, follows the host of a kids TV show, Maureen Fancy (Hewlett), who is perky and happy on camera, and anything but off camera as she fends off endless complications in her personal life.

A CBC spokesman said the public broadcaster has just received the pilot, and will decide on an additional 12-episode order early in the new year.

            Jason Momoa

            Jason Momoa as Drogo?

According to some reports, it looks like Jason Momoa may have been cast as Drogo. Supposedly the actor himself announced it at Armageddon Expo in Melbourne, Australia. Here is a report from someone who was at the convention.

I'm @abitliketrying on twitter and was sitting in the front row when Jason Momoa announced it, and was one of the first to tweet. It was Armageddon in Melbourne, Australia.

He just got the call the other day and he said it hadn't been announced. He'll be filming in Morocco and doesn't like horses, so isn't looking forward to the horseback scenes. He also said that it'll be his first nude scene and first sex scene.

He went on to say that Game of Thrones was one of the best series that he'd read, and everyone should read it. Believe me, few enough of us cheered when he first said it.

He also said when he went in for the audition he did a haka, as he thought it would be perfect for Drogo.

            Cheers!
            Dee

Please vote for Mark Dacascos (aka Tyre the Satedan)

As far as I know, he's the first SG-1/SGA/SGA actor to be on the program, and any vote for him is welcome.
I mean - he's up against ... tada!!!! Donny Osmond!
And say what you will about Donny, but he has some VERY devoted fans.

You have to sign up at http://abc.go.com/ to be able to vote - all they need is an email address and a US zip code (if you don't have one, 90210 comes to mind, but I'm sure you can find a different one if you want to).
You can sign up with ALL of your email addresses to get multiple votes - and if you're in the US, you can even phone in votes.

              GO SATEDANS!

PS If you know any fans of Iron Chef America, please tell them to vote for the Chairman.
PPS If you know any fans of Crow: Stairway to Heaven, please tell them to vote for Eric Draven.

Steve Bacic aka Lord Camulus aka Major Coburn will be on Supernatural playing Dr. Sexy in the "Changing Channels" episode.

Steve will also be on Smallville, playing Dark Archer in an episode called "Disciple".
Steve had a small role in the premiere episode of Smallville - hopefully this role is bigger ;-)

Smallville: Steve Bacic is the Archer to the Arrow

,,,,,Anyway, Entertainment Weekly's Michael Ausiello and KryptonSite report that actor Steve Bacic has been cast as the Dark Archer. The character he's playing is going to be the mentor to the Green Arrow (Justin Hartley), teaching him skills in archery. Hm, it sure looks like Oliver's all ready for some major storylines this season.

Michael Shanks / Brent Stait to guest on SMALLVILLE

                      http://tv.ign.com/articles/103/1036548p1.html

Exclusive: Two of Smallville's Justice Society
IGN TV has the info on two JSA members, and the Stargate alumni who will be playing them.

As it turns out, Hawkman and Dr. Fate will both be part of the Smallville incarnation of the Justice Society. This goes hand in hand with DC Comics, where both characters have notable histories with the team and its various incarnations, dating back to the 1940s.

Playing Hawkman will be an actor who brings his own notable sci-fi following to the role. Michael Shanks, who has recently been appearing on Burn Notice, but is best known as Dr. Daniel Jackson on Stargate SG-1, will portray the classic DC hero.

Dr. Fate will be played by Brent Stait, who had an ongoing role on Andromeda as Rev Bem. Stait also has experience in the Stargate world, having guest starred on Stargate Atlantis and appearing in the direct-to-DVD movie Stargate SG-1: Children of the Gods.
