LOS ANGELES, CA -- 01/15/09 -- "Quantum Quest," a new 3-D computer animated Large Format action adventure film that interweaves beautiful animated sequences with actual space imagery captured from seven ongoing NASA and NASA/ESA space missions, has assembled a stellar voice cast to bring its action adventure storyline to life.

The full voice cast includes Chris Pine (Captain Kirk in J.J. Abrams' upcoming "Star Trek XI" feature film), Samuel L. Jackson ("The Spirit," "Pulp Fiction," "Star Wars"), Hayden Christensen ("Jumper," "Star Wars"), Amanda Peet ("X-Files Movie 2," "The Whole Nine Yards"), Robert Picardo ("Stargate Atlantis"), Jason Alexander ("Seinfeld"), Tom Kenny (voice of "Sponge Bob Squarepants," "Transformers"), Sandra Oh ("Sideways," "Grey's Anatomy"), Brent Spiner ("Independence Day," "Star Trek: Next Generation"), James Earl Jones ("Star Wars"), William Shatner ("Boston Legal," "Star Trek"), Mark Hamill ("Star Wars"), Neil Armstrong, Doug Jones ("Pan's Labyrinth," "Abe Sabien - Hell Boy"), Abigail Breslin ("Little Miss Sunshine," "Kit Kittredge: An American Girl"), Spencer Breslin ("The Happening"), Gary Graham ("Alien Nation," "Enterprise"), and Janina Gavankar ("The L Word").

The movie features the voices of two Captain Kirks (veteran William Shatner and Chris Pine, star of JJ Abrams' upcoming "Star Trek" movie) and two Darth Vaders (James Earl Jones and Hayden Christensen) -- a first for Hollywood and a first for the galaxy. "Quantum Quest" will premiere in Large Format and conventional theaters in late 2009. The film is presented by Digimax, the premier digital content provider in Taiwan, and sponsored in part by NASA's JPL (Jet Propulsion Laboratory). It is produced by Digimax and Jupiter 9 Productions, a full service Hollywood production company. Shawn Clement ("Open Season," "Buffy the Vampire Slayer") is the composer.

"Quantum Quest" is a sci-fi action film set in a scientifically accurate rendering of our solar system in 3-D stereoscopic. Visually, the film blends computer animation with the fantastic images captured during recent NASA space explorations including the international Cassini Huygens mission. The audience is taken on a simulated solar safari, exploring the outer planets and moons of our solar system such as Titan, a moon of Saturn that has rainfall, rivers, and giant lakes of natural gas.

Directed by Dan St. Pierre and Dr. Harry Kloor, and written and conceived by Dr. Kloor, "Quantum Quest" tells the story of an epic battle between the forces of good and evil. The central character is Dave (Chris Pine), a photon who lives in the Sun, who with his people, is drawn into a galactic battle between THE CORE (William Shatner, the embodiment of the Sun, representing life and knowledge) and THE VOID (Mark Hamill, the embodiment of Nothingness, who wishes for total annihilation of the universe).

"Quantum Quest" was initiated by NASA's JPL as part of the outreach program of the Cassini Huygens space mission in 1996, as a project that would be entertaining as well as having underlying scientific educational goals. It is the first time that NASA's JPL has ever initiated a film project and the first time that famed Apollo 11 astronaut Neil Armstrong, the first person to walk on the surface of the Moon, has participated in a feature film, lending his voice to one of the characters ...

It's that time of the year again in Alberta ski country.

Starting Friday, a gallery of celebrities will descend on Lake Louise for Robert Kennedy Jr.'s annual Waterkeeper invitational, kick-starting a weekend defined by elegant galas, expensive ski gear, Hollywood smiles and exquisite cuisine at to the 100-year-old Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise.

More often than not, it's also a weekend where celebrities will pontificate, if only in general terms, about the importance of clean water and good work being done under the banner of Kennedy's Waterkeeper Alliance--a massive environmental umbrella group that protects water bodies around the world.

This year will bring a usual sampling of Kennedy's famously green-hued soldiers for the cause--including activist-actors Alec Baldwin and Ed Begley Jr.--and some new faces, such as five-time Oscar nominee Glenn Close.

In our main feature the lovely Amanda Tapping of Stargate fame comes onto the show to chat about her latest project, the hit show Sanctuary. We find out about the show’s journey, from it’s roots on the internet right up to the first season which has just ended it’s run. There are some behind the scene insights on the cast and the way the show is developed. Amanda reveals what it feels like working on a show that is so heavily reliant on green screen work.

We were also able to tease some hints n what we can expect from the second season of Sanctuary.

This certainly puts the kibosh on a possible Marc-Cliff reunion on Ugly Betty: Cliff's portrayer, David Blue, is relocating to another freakin' universe.

Sources confirm to me exclusively that Blue has been tapped to join the cast of Sci Fi Channel's Stargate Universe, the franchise's third (and purportedly edgiest) live-action series.
