Stargate SG-1: The Alliance Game

I really hope it doesn't flop. It looks pretty good so far.

I hope they don't try to make all the missions be just shooting and stuff, but try some Metroid-esque missions that hinge on exploring and finding items. Hopefully no overly complicated puzzles, though.

Still, I don't think it'll make that big of a splash in the gaming world. I doubt many people outside the fandom will buy it, but you never know. Maybe with some smart team AI and well thought out missions it can succeed as a good game and not just because it's Stargate.

I want it to be like chronicals of riddick in success. A lot of people maybe didnt see or like the movie but the game was HUGE because it was well done. I pray Stargate is the same way but in its own style. I want to see Adam Sessler and Morgan Web make one of their typically insulting remarks about how goofy the show is and then be forced to give the game a great review (prompting them to rethink their errant views of the show, of course)

I read an article on ign.com that said that it looked like mostly heavy fire-fights and not as much exploration-dialogue...etc.

Cool! I'm great at close range firefights.

i found some ingame videos from the game, it....didn't reall look all that good (the team were running through a tunnel thing), but it was only for like 2 mins and it wasn't an offisual teaser thing, some kids were plaing the demo version on some SG confention thing and tapes it off the screen

the ring effect looks FANTASTIC though!

Fourth quarter is all we know officially but alot of places like amazon have October 7th as the release date.

i have a problem waiting, so I went ahead and downloaded some CounterStrike Maps... Well 2 maps, one didnt work but.. I did find a Stargate mod for Halflife, but i dont own half life so i couldnt use the actual mod, but i did use the maps, and about 6 or 7 of them work on counter strike. So until Alliances Comes out, im stuck on counter strike, ofcourse the rings and stargates are fully functional in some maps. lol

the actual stargate alliance site hasnt been updated for sometime tho.
