Hi, two questions about the interpretation of the picture posting rules:

1. ) K = 1000 byte, right? ( Sorry, I'm clueless when it comes to computers! )

2. ) It says "cannot be larger than the forum boundaries, 300X400 is a good size".

Now, those two statements seem to contradict each other. When I post one of the screencaps from the Gateworld gallery in a thread, it doesn't "stretch the thread" even on my small monitor, but it's still... I dunno... 700 wide or something.

So, is it: "don't stretch the thread" or "please keep them under, or at, 300X400 or we'll delete them/warn you/other users will be angry with you"?

I'm not trying to be nitpicky or start an argument here, I just want to understand.

K means KB as in terms of memory of the picture.
300 x 400 refers to the pixel size of the pictuer better known has the width or length

a 'normal' view of the forum is a bit over 700 pixels. make your graphic/photo wider than that, the forum expands to hold it. thus the rule

one way to check the size of graphics is to right click and check properties (on a PC). on mac i think the 'check info' will tell you the same thing

it gives you the pixel dimension adn file size

If you're using IE, the tabs won't show.
