ChelleDb,
If you haven't gotten your browser problem fixed, have you tried deleting your browser cache? Sometimes there's a glitch when loading a page and most browsers will use the page in their cache (because it's faster) the next time you load the page.
Tools Menu
Internet Options
General tab
under temporary internet files, click Delete Files (NOT Delete Cookies)
you may have to wait a minute or 2. click all the ok buttons, close your browser and reopen it and hopefully your problems are solved.sigpic

Actually I think it is an issue with the forum and old versions of IE... Cause when I am using FF I can multiquote without a problem, when I use the old version of IE, mutliquoting doesn't work at all But then when I use IE 7.0...again it works fine...might ask that too in the mods thread, maybe they know about something?

If that doesn't work, go back to the Security tab, and click on the Custom Level button. Then scroll down and find "Active Scripting" under the "Scripting" heading, and make sure it's set to "Enable." Click the necessary OK's and you should be good.Originally posted by Thunderstorm View PostChelleDb,

ChelleDb. If you're still having problems with multiquotes: In IE7 go to Tools, Internet Options and click on the Privacy tab at the top of the page. Make sure the Internet Zone is at least set to Medium. Slide the button up or down to select a zone. The Medium setting should work as I've already tested the multiquote function on the forum.
Remember to close and restart the browser for changes to take effect.
If you're still having problems, it probably won't be an issue with the browser. It might be a setting in your router's firewall, software firewall or security suite that's blocking cookies and disabling scripts."Captain, you almost make me believe in luck."

The thread is called "Ask a mod" not "ask a forum member."
It also isn't the "argue with the mods" thread or "carry out a long debate" thread or the "make comments without asking any questions" thread.
Anything that isn't a question to a mod or an answer from a mod is going to get deleted. It's that simple. It's the whole point of the thread and it has been made clear over and over and over again. But since people keep ignoring them the mods have to keep deleting stuff.

cleaning up the ask the mods thread often depends on our moods and time.
believe it or not, it takes a while to go through and clean out all the off topic posts, especially since 'questions for the mods only' is so hard for folks to understand and comprehend. I've lost count of the number of times i've told people, if you're not a mod and it's not a question, PM THE PERSON with the answer
folks don't pay attention
Just like they don't pay attention to the stickied 'when will atlantis s4 air' thread and make their own a couple of times a week
And another good reason for a post to be deleted...calling people names and breaking those rules folks agreed to when they got their username

I Hate Siler
Is Siler a Necessary Character?
The first title implies that it's for complaining about the character whereas the second one is more or less asking for opinions on his worth. Even if you changed the first to Siler is Unnecessary or Get Rid of Siler or something along those lines, it still carries a negative connotation and people will react to that accordingly.
The latter title allows a bit more freedom (it implies more freedom as well) and you can still clearly state your opinion on the subject while leaving the thread itself open for debate.
I Hate Siler is also likely to lead to more knee-jerk reactions while Is Siler a Necessary Character? might make people pause to think before they reply.
It's also usually a good idea to make it clear in the first post that you're welcoming debate. "I think Siler has outlived his usefulness for these reasons. What do you think?" or even "This thread is for debating Siler's worth. Here's what I think." or something along those lines.
