If i understood right, the custom avatar option is a 'bonus' unlocked for users once they hit the 2000ish post limit. So not for a while yet.

The second question is about the forum being very slow recently.. Asking why threads take a long time to open. ....I think.

if that's the question, we've noticed it too. And we've let greg know. It seems to be some sort of glitch that's hard to track down.

Usually when a SG episode airs, its "Pre-Airing Discussion" thread quickly gets filled up with fans saying what's happening as they watch, and then is closed upon moving to the episode-specific folder. In the case of Air, however, its thread is dedicated to all three parts, so is there any chance we can keep it open after the premiere so we can still pre-air speculate about the 3rd part?

if you want to do it that way, then i'd title the thread 'Air, part 1 & 2 live talk, part 3 speculation'

and then next week you can stop with the part 3 spec thread and have a part 3 live air thread. (although, is it airing in 2 parts or 3 parts in the UK? if so then those folks may need to start their own live air chat thread)

probies don't have that option. Once you earn your way off probie status, you'll be able to have one.

We, unfortunately, had to make that part of the probie thing after we had some spammers use their sigs to spam, amongst other things, porn sites

Oddly I'm getting the white screen saying the following

WARNING: Internal server error:::....
http 500 internal server error; possible reasons:
Site my be undergoing mantanince
Site may be temporarliy offline

What you can try:
Refreshing the page
going back and trying another page
Contact the Gateworld database team (no email linked other then "example/@\mailto,net")

I get this warning when trying to view several threads and also my control panel
