Chris Pine Says New Star Trek Cast is Signed for a Three-Picture Deal

Screen Rant posted their in-depth review of the 20 minutes of new Star Trek movie footage previewed for the press on the Paramount lot in LA early this week, plus brief interviews with stars Chris Pine and Zachary Quinto. Here are excerpts.

SR: So what did you think of the new footage?

Chris Pine: I'm still shaking. That [footage] was fantastic! Those special effects look great!

SR: do you think they'll keep the music that was just used?

Chris Pine: I hope so. It was pretty good, wasn't it?

SR: How does it feel to take on the role of Kirk?

    Chris Pine: Challenging.

SR: So are you signed up for more?

Chris Pine: It's a standard three picture deal. But it depends on how well this one does, if there'll be more.

The full report can be found at Screen Rant (beware of major spoilers)

That is how I choose to look at it. At least for now.

why? Star Trek has always been about looking forwards.... not back... (ignoring Enterprise for obvious reasons... though the last season was OK)
A word of advice... there are creatures that live between this dimension and the next, fiendish creatures that feast on the suffering of an entire world to satiate their eternal hunger. Support the Gateworld Cantina or suffer the fate of all who fall into the clutches of the 'Eladrith Ynneas'

Yeah. I am just waiting and seeing....I want to see it do well, and I think it might. But, I have heard a lot of bad about it to.
In the end I think that this will be a potentially great movie, but a bad Trek Movie.

I have no honest idea of how this is any indication that the ST team is looking back at all, in fact this seems to indicate that they are looking toward the future. The future of the franchise. Now, taking in that this is the past of the cannon, but it is not really since it seems to be its own little re boot...but then again....

For now, I'm just going to say I'm surprised. Neither happy nor sad, I just wasn't expecting that. I'll decide after the first one what I think for sure.
