The Way I Wish SG1 wold end, is something like how the end of season 7. vs SG1 dieing off in a dumb way... i whether have seen them fight for there lives than watch them sit in a fracking ship and die slowly...
Not really spoilery, but it is a bit, so....behind the spoiler tag:
Spoiler:
Personally, I'd liked to have seen the show having ended with a movie-length finale, much like in the way the series began. Have those little character, and even subtle (and some blatant, i.e, with Cam and Sam being called into work from a 'dinner date' that may or may not have been 'just as friends', despite them saying it was), shippy moments in there too.
That way, those who wanted to see Jack back for the last ever ep could have had him back too.
I'd really loved to have had seen Jonas back for even just one scene. But no such luck
To be honest, I consider The Ark Of Truth to be the real ending. Unending in my eyes was something that had to be done because of the inconvinience of when they found out it was the last season, I think it's the first movie where we'll get the real closure, at least in terms of the Ori arc...
I really think the movie will be the true ending...like Farscape. I hope all of the movies keep open ends though so the series can live on in one form or another

Oh, I totally agree. Don't get me wrong. I just meant that "Unending" was a fitting series finale for me, knowing we still had movies to look forward to in order to wrap certain arcs up better.

I'm sure they will, to a certain degree. They'll most likely wrap up certain things, and open doors to others.

I imagine they will too. I just dont want them to close too many doors for the show. Leave one big thing (Like baby Dargo on Farscape ) open to expand upon in another movie or series.

Actually, I think that is kind of the plan for "Continuum" anyway. Isn't it supposed to lay some of the groundwork for the next series, SGU?

It's so easy to end the series with a big bang and have hundreds of ships shooting glowing crap at each other over Earth and other cliches like that. This is why I loved Unending. It was different. It focused on the characters instead of the plot, and that makes it unique.

I couldn't agree more. The show went out like it had almost always been - different from the rest. And that, IMO, is a great thing.
What made this show so special, to me anyways, is how much I grew to care about the characters. Over the years, they became a kind of "TV family" for me. I really cared what happened to each and every one of them.
Having the last episode of the show focusing on those characters that I grew to care about so much was the only way I would have wanted it.
