And a relatively minor point of annoyance, why is TJ the only military officer in a tank top? Wish they could given her a regular t-shirt like James, Greer, Scott and the others.
Because she's a girl, anything to show more female skin...

Honestly the writing puts BSG to shame.
    *gasp* *thud* *shock*

I loved this episode. One of my favorites so far.

That fight scene at the end has to be my favorite in all of stargate

I laughed when Rush threw the rock.

We were all likely thinking....NO Young wouldn't do that...and then BOOM (like tough acting Tinactin) it hits you. He would.

If it was any other show, I'd say she and Rush were in league.

              Correction: Hasn't been very complex.

I think this might be my new favorite episode of SGU so far.

The thing I really responded to was the moral ambiguity of it all. The fact that viewers have such differing opinions about what happened at the end of the episode.

Some people are on Team Rush, while others are Team Young. lol And what I love is that, even though I think both of them took things way too far, you can understand what motivated each of them to do what they did.

This is the first true revelation of how awful Rush can be. Before this point, a lot of it was just teasing the audience with the possibility that he could do some terrible things to get what he wants, but we rarely saw him just blatantly do it, and had it proven.

I've watched a lot of people kind of fall in love with Young and cheer for him through all the troubles Rush, Telford, and the rest have created for him. And then we see him finally break a little and it just throws a lot of people's opinions of him into a tailspin.

I think it's fantastic drama. And, even though I haven't disliked any episode of the show yet, I think that "Justice," "Time," and "Light" are what the rest of the series should be modeled after, moreso than the rest. When the character drama comes from the mission, and the fact that they're stuck aboard this ship, causing them all to do things that they might not normally be willing to do. I think this is where the show shines the most.

It's obvious that Rush will return to the Destiny somehow, but what matters most to me is what happens once he does. Regardless of how "obvious" the actual journey may be, the dramatic effect of it all is what's important. And I can't honestly say I know for sure what will happen, but it should be pretty damn interesting.

I actually thought that it was something Young would do, but I wasn't sure the writers would allow Young to do something like that, especially so soon in the series. I'm glad they did, and I trust them a lot more now than I did before...

I think it made ALOT of sense that the scientist got in the chair. He was the most displeased of them all...They should have done the set up better with a least more of mention of his displeasure in previous epsodes...

This is what I mean by an over use of Character story telling...they are neglecting alot of areas by telling us useless facts about Wray and relationship. Young and his relationship. Scott and his relationship/mistakes....

I've said it before I'll say it a thousand times....you need a solid foundation for Dramatic story-telling.

It's hard to know what he would do because the writers are meandering the stories. Many times there is no....(for lack of a better word) punctuation on the situations or on the characters.

It's not far off from his character no...
but would a officer do this....
                      Oh Heck no...

That's how I feel. While I tend to dislike Young far more than I do Rush, I appreciate the way it was written. Honestly though, what would fascinate me would be if it turned out that Rush was NOT the one who did it, that Rush was playing Young. I have this theory that Rush is a lot like LOST's Sawyer in that for some reason he wants to be hated. It would be an interesting revelation if the scientist who sat in the chair (I can't remember his name) actually tried to frame Young for whatever reason, he is suspicious of the military, and Young brushed him off as harmless...I don't know, it would just be interesting if Young's actions were incorrect, I also wonder, what will it take for the military personnel to become less loyal, I don't think they can stay this blindly loyal to Young forever.

Oh, and I loved GREER in this episode. As always Jamil was phenomenal.

                            Wow!

If Young had brought Rush back through the gate then I could have had a bit of respect for him.

But now he's even more disturbed then I thought originally.

And tell me why hasn't there been an investigation into why Volker left the base without his chauffer? All of these guys that go off base have an escort so Volker gets past his and they aren't investigating.

Rush knew that there wouldn't be enough to say Young killed him-in fact he realized it would be thought of as a frame up. He didn't put Young in a capsule and jettison him or put him in an airlock. He just had his power removed which by the way I agree with Rush, Young is not fit to be commander. But the problem here is Rush doesn't know the whole story of why Young didn't take the command of the team going through the Gate. I think Telford is the only one (other then TJ and the wife) that knows about the affair. Otherwise Young would have been on the Hammond in the first ep having been relieved of his duty if the USAF knew about it or as far as that goes, Wray's bunch.

So Young snaps and attacks Rush and then leaves him, and for all intense purposes, for dead.

And the scientist getting in the chair-remember this is the guy that got two other people killed in the third ep.

Yep Rush is going to so grand stand him when he appears back on the ship with a new vehicle and maybe some intel. In fact not only has Telford been blackmailing Young now Rush has something on him.

I still have this gut feeling about alternate universes.

I appreciate that about this series, that the military personnel aren't written as purely negative or positive, but as imperfect. That was probably the one issue with BSG, that they held it together for so long, but then again, there were many more of them so that also makes sense.
