I kinda feel the same way, but I wasn't too sure as to why. You've nailed it on the head. I love the new series, "Motive" that he's in. I wish they'd do a little bit more of a back story for his Oscar character. I know he's from a wealthy background and that he backs up his partner. But he's playing second banana to Lauren Holly. Both are equally fascinating and I love her strong woman vibes. But Oscar is a tad too quiet. Still, both are great and I do hope the show succeeds on ABC.

I'm really enjoying 'Motive' too, I'm glad it got a second season, for me it's one of those shows that gets better as it goes on, the last 3 or 4 epiosodes of the first season were really good and it was good to see some more Stargate actors in action again. Loved Amanda Tapping's appearance.

I too would like to see more of what Louis can do with the character of Oscar. I reckon he's quiet after all the shouting he had to do at Rush! The best moment for me was when he was reunited with 'Sgt Riley', the two actors played really well together again in some great scenes. Although I still couldn't help thinking of the last sad but brilliant scene they played in together prior to Motive.
