It's going to look like the Millennium Falcon. A really big version of the Millennium Falcon.

    Perfecto!

No. Read any official comments. The ship was built when they were at the top of their power, but they got busy with ascension. That means they can't have built the ship way back when they were still the Alterans. Back then they were too young as a race, and there can't have been more than a few thousand of them.

The Hight of the Power was around Atlantis-time, but the ship's said to be older than Atlantis; so it's a bit contradictory until we find out when it was actually made and sent.

I say it's secretly hidden under Cheyenne Mountain Base. Pure Coincidence.

Surely the height of their power was pre-plague in the Milky Way?

Definitely. Those who went to the Pegasus Galaxy on Atlantis were the only ones lucky enough not to have been infected, so most of the Ancients were left behind to ascend or die (or Freeze).

            Perfecto!

How about just copying the Romulans (and apparently their own ZPMs) and use a contained microsingularity? We already established how powerful a blackhole is. Oh, and make it unstable; that'll be dramatic and stuff.

And to refuel, Destiny must travel to the galactic core of a galaxy where it...uh...I don't know, use the supermassive blackhole there to reform/refuel its own microsingularity? That'd make a pretty cool episode, I think.

Well it all depends how old Destiny is. Correct me if im wrng but did Atlantis not leave Earth to escape the plague? If so Atlantis is pretty old as well. So Zpm's could be a possibility.

The Destiny is supposed to be millions of years older than Atlantis. The Atlantis expedition had trouble finding ZMPs which were still functional after being in use for 10,000 years.

I don't recall hearing anything about a lot of Ancient knowledge being lost after the plague. According to what we were told in SG1, the Dakara device's real purpose was to re-create life in the galaxy after a devastating plague. Anubis intended to use it as a means to destroy current life and re-populate the galaxy with what he wanted.

There were Repositories of Knowledge in the Milky Way containing all the knowledge of the Ancients. Unless these were created by Merlin after the Ancients had gone to Pegasus there's no reason why all this information couldn't be in the Atlantis data base.

how could you explain otherwise, why from earthy architecture, the lanteans went to lantean architecture, why the mightly ancients made dakara, but didnt do so to wipe out the wraith, by tuning into their freqency [or iratus frequency] to kill the wraith alone, or how they didnt use arctic superweapons to wipe out the wraith faster than they could regenerate. after all, the wraith used 3 ZPM's to clone and produce ships. ancients had dozens of ZPM's, and could easily use their knowledge to mass produce drones,[via nanites or so], and just fire em through the gates, to destroy any building fleet. how come such a great race, simply didnt use their long range sensors to detect where the wraith ships came from, and dial that planet and fire the arctic superweapon through? loss of knowledge. if it hadnt happened, then the ancients would be alive today. but as in any plague or mass death, there's knowledge loss. the ancients dying from the plague created the repository, to ensure they would be remembered one day.

The device on Dakara was perhaps created by their best minds while they were dying from the plaque. At least, that's the impression I got. If that's the case, it's possible that Atlantis never knew about it because they were busy trying to avoid the plaque infected and never thought of it on their own. Although the fact that they didn't use it on the Wraith doesn't show that they never knew about the technology as it's never been said that the device is capable of killing one type of organic life but not another.

With drones, I don't see how not firing them through gates or not building them super quickly shows that they lost knowledge as it was never shown that the Milky Way Ancients did those things. We don't even know that it's possible to fire drones through the gate. They might lose power once on the other side, (we don't know if they draw power wirelessly or not) they might go into autopilot and only target moving objects on their own while being easier to stop/avoid, or they might just shut down as it may not be possible to maintain the mental interface through the gate (maybe they only go into autopilot if they are told to and they can't be switched over as quickly as the second before they enter the gate).

As far as their building capacity goes, they had it a lot harder than the Wraith. The Wraith could seemingly grow their own ships with nothing but a power supply on hand and had a near endless supply of manpower to put the finishing touchings on ships as quickly as possible. Meanwhile, the Ancients had a limited population, had to spend time gathering raw materials, and didn't seem to have an automated factory that did all the work for them (even if they did have such a factory, they'd still have a slower production rate). As such, they of course not only built things more slowly but it was much easier to dent their producion with a few key attacks. Where as the Wraith grow their ships anywhere on the drop of the dime and likely did so on many planets throughout the galaxy at the same time. The only stable target they had that we know about was the cloning facility, but apparently they were able to keep its location a secret.

In the very first scene of SGA we see two Ancients just before the city sets off for Pegasus. Their clothing looks different to that of the Lanteans we see millions of years later so maybe Ancients went in for fashion changes. A town or city which has been around for a few centuries will have buildings in many architectural styles so why couldn't the Ancients come up with different designs if they felt like it?
