See I actually wouldn't mind that scenario, however there is a problem with that for me. To make it happen and for TPTB to show it happen would mean a considerable amount of time would pass before the descendants made it home, meaning that if a fourth series is ever created would it be made after the descendants return home?? If so that would suck, i like present day Stargate.
So do I. I like the "here and now" of the Stargate franchise. I'd rather not see the finale of Stargate: Universe skip ahead to take place in the 2070's or whatever. I want to be with Colonel Young and his crew from start to finish. They're the characters I'm interested in investing in and following. Not their children or grandchildren.
A second or third generation of people from the survivors would not really have that much motivation to go to Earth anyway. Its not a place they ever would have known. It would be a sad ending if the original cast of characters never got to go home. But if the descendants never get to go to Earth, then well so what? They've never thought of it as a home. Sure some might want to see out the generation long quest to see their ancestors planet of birth but none of them should have the same emotional desire to have the ship return to that world.
"First Weir, then Samantha Carter, and now, you! It's a pity you humans die or get reassigned so easily, or I might have a sense of satisfaction now!"

I can see a few months fast forward but too far and we lose Stargate's in the present. But Cooper has always expressed pride that Stagate is in the present so I doubt we will see it happen
You mean 2010. And 1969 hardly counts since we barely get to see one room. But if they put their minds to it, I don't think it would take generations to get back. Anyhow, as I said earlier, there's already a thread specifically about this question.
"Most people who are watching TV are semi-catatonic. They're not fully alive." - U.S. District Court Judge Timothy Batten Sr. Ronald Greer is also a medic. Your argument is invalid.
